I'm not sure about burgandy and dark browns together. Something tells me that might look a little off; like they are too close together but not the same? I also think you might be able to go brighter/cheerier for the 50s in LA. They were coming out of the earth-toned bungalow era; but if it is a bungalow, I probably wouldn't paint it chartreuse. PIP this darn house already...
I have a friend whose house had a similar Tudor color scheme. She painted the siding a deep taupe, the stucco a pale almost grayish mint. Trim was cream and he shutters/front door were a deep tourquoise. It was fresh feeling after all that dark.
I wouldn't do burgundy with browns- it's to close.
