I'm laughing at myself for asking this, BUT...how's the quality of Forever 21 stuff lately?
I haven't bought there in awhile, but we're going to Kauai later this year, and I need some shorts and coverups. I don't really wear shorts often enough to spend a lot of money on them. And for coverups, I was just thinking some of their cute jersey dresses or the like.
Anyways, should I bother or just save my money and buy a couple of nicer pieces?
I have found stuff there that has held up for years, and other things that have been pretty beat up within a few washes. Your best bet is to go into a store (don't bother ordering online) and really examine the fabrics and construction of each piece.

I agree with Bimbi. Even though I am completely overwhelmed every time I set foot in that place, it is so much easier in the long run to just go to the store.
I also heard they don't do online returns in store? That might be more of a hassle than it's worth, if something is bad quality or doesn't fit right, to ship it back.

This!!
Another reason to go in to the store! I recommend going in on a weekday morning if possible. Less customers = less mess.
I know its a pain to go into that store, but its better in the long run. Everything always looks different in online photos. For example, I attempted to order a really cute bright yellow crochet top there once, and when I got it, it was MUSTARD yellow (and not like a cute mustard yellow), and a really odd length on me. That, and the crochet was obviously going to come unraveled if I did anything in it.
They do offer in-store returns for merchandise bought online, which is nice...but you ladies are probably right, I should just go see for myself.
Is it weird to feel weird about going into a store called Forever 21 when you are not 21? Ah well. haha!
I think it's in-store for credit and mail returns for refund. If I order anything online I never spend much b/c I don't want to end up with a huge credit. I always find it hit or miss.

I'm on the border of 33 and I just started shopping there. I can only fit into the Plus sized stuff but I love their dresses. I think I have 8 in my closet plus a few shirts. And TONS of necklaces. I'm obsessed.

I've been ordering a lot online from them and so far everything has worked out for me. I find it EXTREMELY helpful to read the reviews before you buy something, see what the material is, and if it's lined or not (for dresses mostly). Because of spending forever researching the pieces before I buy them, I've had really good luck. I also think that if you order online you can return the stuff (via sending it back) and actually get a refund instead of store credit. I haven't tried it though yet. All in all, I really kind of love the place and have not had too much trouble with any of their pieces and you can't really beat the price.

I agree with others that you really need to see it in person. I also have some pieces that have held up well & some that have seen better days. Overall, I think it’s decent for the price.
I buy online in F21 and it is a hit or miss: maybe the color looks different, or the fabric, etc. And like others have said, some pieces have held really good, while others are just crap (like some sweaters IMO). I have also returned pieces sending them back, and they just reimburse the cost in my credit card
