The food here is truly exceptional. When I was in MD I had a list of foods I wanted to eat, not because they were "good" but bc they were unique to the region. Like Utz crab chips, steamed spiced shrimp, Rita's Italian ice, and pit beef.
Agreed. We most frequently go to San Diego (to visit relatives), and the food scene down there is still pitiful compared to Seattle's... and that's with a big "foodie" boom down there in the last few years.
Boston does have good seafood and Italian, though.
Man, I hope this proves to be true. Because I am so, so spoiled by SF and when people ask me the one thing I will miss the most about living here, my immediate response is "the food". I feel like I must be missing a lot of Seattle's great restaurants. Does someone want to compile a list for me?
I don't think Seattle is on par with SF for food, so you will surely miss the food there.
We were shocked by the foodie scene in Santa Fe. Lots of farm to table places and high quality food for not a lot of money. Reminded us a lot of Seattle. The food in Denver is not nearly as good as Seattle.
