that I have a "typical" posture. As in, I really like to stand a certain way - apparently all the time. I just saw some photos from my volunteering this weekend (at a semi-local triathlon) and in nearly all of them, I've got my hands on my hips. For example:
I'm the adult sort of in the middle, wearing a red hat.
I'm looking back through other photos - ones taken when I wasn't aware there was a photo being taken ... and I've got my hands on my hips in nearly all of them. WTF?
I have awkwardly long arms, and I talk with my hands, so they always bent at the elbow and usually caught in motion. Apparently, I don't stand still.lol
Hey how did it go being in a kayak? Did you tip over or fall out?
Actually, I nearly did. I pulled up to a guy having trouble, nose first. He grabbed the front. I was talking to him and trying to get him to breathe deep (turns out a lot of our adult athletes were from MUCH lower elevations and the altitude was NOT their friend), when another athlete grabbed the side of the kayak just behind me, so I had no warning. There was a pretty dang precarious moment there before I was able to lean and counter-balance him.
Fortunately, it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be, though. They gave me a sit-on-top, so I was already familiar with the type and actually had paddled that particular brand/style before.

Well that's good. Kayaking is fairly intuitive once you get used to it.
