So I found these 2 Kate Spade purses on eBay. I didn't want to spend more than $200 so that's kind of why I can't decide. The blue one is $200 with free shipping and the pink one is $235 with $10 shipping. I really can't decide and need some help

What are they made out of? The blue is better, but if this is an everyday bag it could show dirt and stains easily. It's hard to clean any leather that is so light. Also, are you sure that they are authentic? Ebay has a lot of fakes and KS on sale is about that price and possibly less. The outlets are probably that or less and authentic too.

I don't have an outlet near me but these look real and have pictures of the tags attached to the bag still. I'll check out the Kate Spade website too

Fakes can have tags and serial numbers. They are from the grey market and can fund illegal activity. They are made in the exact same factories of lesser materials after hours and sold to people who sell them via ebay to fund such activites. Have them authenticated on The Purse Forum which can be found via Google. It's been in HB and the WSJ. KS has a sale section online. Her bags are easily accessible through authorized sellers for that price point. 315 has a great article.

I didn't know that I'll have to find that purse forum.
I didn't see any bags I loved in the sale section so I hope these are real

On ebay, it is very likely that these are fake and quite literally funding terrorist activites. It's your dime. I'd just rather not fund the development IEDs when my cousin is in Afghanistan at this very moment.

My husband was injured twice by IEDs. I had no idea that kind of stuff happened through things like this.

315 has the link to the article in Harper's Bazaar and I've seen it in the Wall Street Journal more than once. I'm very sorry about your DH, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this. It's a big part of the reason that many people would like to see manufacturing move back to the US or other allies. I hope I didn't come across as harsh, but I wanted to make sure you knew what you may be getting into and didn't get ripped off too.

I appreciate that. I wouldn't want to support any activity like that and I'm obviously not well informed on this stuff.
I try to stay away from stuff from overseas (except the bubble necklaces) and both these purses were located in the US so I thought they were fine. I posted on the purse forum to see if they're real but I most likely won't be getting them now. Back to square one

They can authenticate anything there and it moves fast. They truly know their stuff and are a great resource. It may be real, but you really don't want it if it isn't. There are a lot of great bags out there regardless.

The Kate Spade moderator just authenticated both! That was crazy fast
I like the blue too. That's great that you were able to authenticate!
And thank you FCG for pointing out what the knockoff/gray market can really have going on behind the cheap bags.
No problem! I figured it would be you, me, or 315. I also hate to see someone pick out something they love to find out it's not what they thought. Fakes are easy to come by here from street markets and pass off on Ebay or at a purse party.
Zims-Glad you got it authenticated so quickly! The Purse Forum is very quick and knowledgeable.
