What type of paint for a powder room?

It depends on what type of paint you are using. The really high quality paints are formulated for mildew resistance, clean-ability etc., and you can get away with less sheen, even in a bathroom.

I'm probably old school, but the sheen always washes easiest. In bathrooms that is important to me.

Sherwin Williams has a matte finish that I really like and I use it EVERYWHERE. It's nice and flat, but can still be scrubbed.

I just did my powder room in Ben Moore's eggshell. It's matte looking, but you can wipe it down if needed.

I don't like any kind of sheen on the walls. We used Benjamin Moore matte paint everywhere - even in our kitchen and bathrooms. They have the Aura Bath & Spa that is a matte paint but is very washable.

I use Behr's version of the washable matte in every room. Flat is not practical in bathrooms, but I hate sheen and prefer the look of flat.
