Registration tags/stickers? In VA, at least, you have to renew them by the last day of the month, and they should be on your car by then. If you renew online you can print a temporary registration that's good for 30 days while you wait for the new stickers to be mailed to show if you get pulled over for expired tags though.
You need to get it renewed by the last day of June.
Also, I couldn't figure out what a "car tab" was, lol.
What are they called? License plate tabs?
Guess H is okay, I always renew mine whenever I get the bill in the mail. H likes to wait until very last minute. Or until the next month. It makes me nervous.
If it makes you feel any better, mine expired in November, and when I went in February to renew them I realized I had been driving with expired tabs for 3 months.
(The car used to be in my dad's name, and when we switched the registration, they didn't change the renewal month to my birthday.)

I had to read the post to figure out what a car tab was, LOL.
H and I were just arguing about this a few weeks ago actually. He thinks there's a grace period in our state for a few days into the next month. I swear I've been told that the grace period only applies if you're registering the vehicle for the first time; otherwise it's the end of the month.

They are supposed to be renewed by midnight on your birthday; which reminds me, DH's tags are due this month. His have to be renewed by midnight on June 20th; usually they will let you go until the end of the month, but come July 1, you better have renewed tags. (There is no extra fee until after the end of the month)

I call it a registration sticker, but I'm sure it's regional. I just clicked in here to find out what a car tab is

In CA, there is no grace period. It's expired at the time of the registration's expiration date (listed on your registration/the paperwork.) So, if your paperwork says 6/10/14 is the expiration date, your June 2014 sticker is expired as of 6/10/14. Someone else may have until 6/30/14 because that's the date of their expiration.
That being said, unless you're also doing something else wrong that would cause you to be pulled over/are in an accident, I doubt a police officer will check a June 2014 tag until July.

I was so confused by what a car tab was. I am glad you translated it to Virginian for me LOL.
mekiakoo for both the registration sticker and the inspection it expires the last day of the month. I have never not had to print off the temporary one so I am your husband. If it makes you nervous just don't drive your husband's car until the new sticker is on. I think in most states if you do get pulled over you just get a "fix-it" ticket that doesn't even have a fine unless you don't do it in a certain amount of time.
Random story: our last race car was street legal but very rarely driven except for to and from races. One day I had to take it to work and got pulled over on my way home for an expired registration. How expired? A year and a half. Turns out there were no additional fines/back fees at the DMV so I just got a new year registration for the regular price and the ticket was less than a year and a half worth of registration fees. I joked about having saved money and the DMV lady, very seriously, suggested it wasn't a good long term savings plan.

I've never heard this either. I call them "registration stickers." Elsewhere though I've heard them called "tags"

I'm more worried about HIM driving the car. He likes to procrastinate everything.
Gotcha, trying to see the bright side if he does get pulled over and is late for something he probably won't procrastinate about it anymore. LOL
