I posted this on MM but thought I might get some good responses here as well.
We'll be in southern Maine in early September for a week. We've been there before and have great friends that live there so we will be hitting all the usual cool places in the area while we're there (Wells, Ogunquit, York, Kennebunk, etc.).
Is it worth a trip to Acadia since we'll be sort of close (approx. 3 hour drive)?
We'll have the kids (age 1 and 3) so that would be a pretty intense day trip for them, BUT my mom and grandma will be joining us on the trip and may agree to watch the kids for us for the day.
So, if you've been to Acadia - should we do a day trip there? If so, what should we do? We're totally willing to get up early and hit the road so we can have a full day. I don't want to stay overnight because we've already rented a beach condo for the week in southern Maine.
