for sweaters i'd suggest steering clear of wool unless you want to layer. i tend to find they are always so itchy. plus they will shrink if you wash yourself. I heart corduroys for winter. I need to replace a black pair this year. I tried last year and couldn't find any i liked. I'd also suggest blazers. I'm on the hunt for some right now but am having limited success finding any i like.
My name is mavjen and I am a jacket addict. So, jackets.
Blazers, leather jackets, sweater coats, etc. a jacket that is moto inspired or with a peplum hem. Or a chanel inspired jacket.
I have your back, I am one too! We have one walk-in closet in our house and it is the coat closet and my side is packed! I just cannot resist!
I am also a scarf whore and really don't care if they are "in" They are great to update a plain outfit.
I really want a pair of black boots, but my most current attempt the Frye Melissa Tramputo was a massive fail. The ankles are ridicously huge and baggy.

I have a hard time with boots. I have a pair of brown leather boots from Puma that I absolutely love. Everything else I've tried just doesn't work for me. I should probably start a hunt for black boots again.

Hi. Can we start a support group?!
Cords like the other poster - I love them. I need a new brown jacket because my current one is old and worn.
I'm a turtleneck lover. I can't get enough of them.
Scarves, cardis, light sweaters for layering. Also, the fall is suit season for me. I can easily put a turtleneck or a light short-sleeved sweater with them.

I'm in! Jackets are a great piece to change things up. I have 3 leather moto jackets, a tuxedo jacket, and some tweed jackets that look like a Chanel style. I think a moto jacket is great to run around in without looking like you're trying. The tuxedo one and the Chanelesque ones are great with any jean and boot combo. These are awesome with a white tee and statement necklace. It's a very easy look to put together and look effortless.
Boots are great since they can be dressed up or down. I like Zappos for convenience to try styles. I also like Duo since they do custom fit in the foot and shaft.
My fall shopping list includes: - 1-2 pairs of jeans, dark and gray, and maybe a third in a color - cognac riding/tall boots - thick leggings/riding pants with some kind of detail, like zippers or something interesting - cardigans or sweaters that have some unique detail like a cool collar or something to make them not boring. I have so many basics so I'm going to consciously stay away from adding to that. - casual blazers/jackets, including at least one in a sweatshirt jersey material
I just got an email from h&m with fall stuff! Looks like red (?), jackets, scarves (yeah!), Peter pan collars, skinny pants and big jewelry are all big. I'm definitely NOT ready for fall (for reals, I just got a damn tan!).
I can't wait for the fall. The fall is when my fashion shinessssss! LOL!
LOL! For me summer is my shining time, so I don't want fall yet!!
That said, I need more cardis and some slim work pants. I seriously wore like zero pants all fall and winter last year because I was unhappy with my size and didn't want to have to buy all new pants, lol. That said, now I fit back into my pants, but I don't like any of them and need an update.
I could also use a pair or two of comfy pumps.
Oh AND I need to buy a freaking suit for internship interviews. I'm thinking J Crew or Theory for that, and I will be trying to come up with any way possible to make them not boring. I'll probably go navy or gray because every woman and her sister wears black suits in my field (I wanna stand out!), and I may do a skirt vs pants, though I may just end up getting a mix-and-match set.
How about booties? I got "into" booties last fall/winter and wore them a lot with skinny black pants and skirts. I have a tan and black pair similar to these (like the Isabel Marant ones but a lot cheaper). I think I got one pair from report and the other from steve madden.
On my wish list: cognac or brown riding boots, more cords, black ankle boots, boot-cut dark-wash denim, more skinny pants, cable-knit sweater (maybe in a winter white), and a black cross-body purse
What I have that I'm looking forward to wearing again: striped gray/black turtleneck sweater, gray cords, purple cords, black cowlneck sweater, black ankle-strap ballet flats, leopard flats, v-neck knits in a rainbow of colors, herringbone skirt, black riding boots, mustard slouch boots, and ETA taupe ankle boots much like the Dicker boots esynergy posted above
I'm always loving my summer wardrobe, and it stays hot here until about late October, so I still have several months before I can even think about boots and scarves. As much as I love switching it up and wearing colder weather clothes, I love summer weather and the wardrobe that comes with it
I probably get about 3 months where I can wear jeans and boots comfortably without getting too hot and I love it! That's all I need.
I really want a great professor/equestrian tweed blazer with a ladylike cut. I looked for one last year and couldn't find the right intersection of style and price. And I live in sheath dresses for work, but greatly prefer them with some sort of sleeve, so I stock up in the fall on classic colors that I can wear year round in light weight wool. BR just introduced a SS one in navy and gray plaid that I'll pick up when it goes on sale.

My fall/winter wardrobe is pretty much the same since winters aren't too bad here.
I live in sweater dresses/leggings/boots and then jeans or cords/thin sweaters/boots. I do wear a ton of scarves and I agree on the cords - I get a ton of wear on my olive green & grey ones.
