Just call them up and make an appointment. It's free.
Basically, you go in tell them what you're looking for tell them how much you want to spend (either per item or total), some likes/dislikes and then they start pulling stuff.
If they start pulling things that you don't like, try it on before you say you don't like it. They'll pull things that you may have never picked on your own, but it could look fantastic on you.
Also, if you tell them that you want them to pull things once they come in they can do that an call you for new stuff too.
The personal shoppers are probably booked at least through the weekend because it's the first weekend of the sale, but you might be able to get in within the next week or so.
Yep, you just call and make an appointment. I'd recommend getting a recommendation (I'm really happy with mine), because some of them will have different style, etc.
They'll communicate with you in advance to get your size, style preference, budget, departments you like to shop in, etc.
I've been extremely happy with mine. Even though I think I'm pretty good at shopping , she was able to pull tons of fabulous stuff for me, help me put together outfits with clothes I already had, etc.
If you're planning on spring I'd time it around Spring Half Yearly (June) and do it then. You could get stuff to wear right then on sale and then go back at Anniversary (July) and get fall/winter stuff on sale.
one of the things that I really liked about the personal shopper is that she was great at knowing which pieces were high quality from the juniors department (typically cheaper), as well as just providing general inspiration.
for example, I loved outfits she put together with a chambray shirt, but I didn't want to spend $50 on something trendy, so I then bought a chambray shirt at old navy and put together the same outfits.
