President Obama is speaking at UCI's commencement on Saturday and I have a chance to get a ticket. I really want to go but there are many annoyances associated with going - I would have to be there at 6:30 am to get through the expected 3 hour long security line, I don't know a single person who is graduating and would sit alone for the entire ceremony. WWYD? Should I suck it up and go and enjoy the experience or just wait until his speech is posted online and enjoy it in the comfort of my living room?

I had to wait in a ridiculous line with my mom in the cold and I had the flu. I would do it if I really wanted to see him speak and hadn't, and didn't think I would have another chance.

I'm a DC-based fed and I always get jazzed to hear him speak. It is a pain in the butt in terms of lines and security every time but always worth it. Biden is actually a lot of fun to listen to, too.
I heard him speak at a NYC rally in '07. DD was not even 2. He spoke in Washington Square Park and we all went to the playground (strategic on our part, no lines to wait in) to play and listen to him speak under the arch. The playground is yards away form the arch.

I would go. I went to see GWB speak in college just because he was the president. The security wasn't really annoying, although I guess things might have gotten much more intense since 2004.
I also went out of my way to see the PM of Australia speak once though, just because she was a head of government, so I might not be normal in this regard.
