I'm halfway through The Atlantis World by A.G. Riddle and I'm enjoying it. I'm also still reading The Panic Free Pregnancy. They are #38 and 39 for the year.
The Atlantis World is for the challenge- a book that is part of a trilogy or has a three world title (works for both). I also read a book with a cat as a character/cat on the cover last week. I'm hoping to have time to squeeze in a reread of Fangirl before the month is up so I can better participate in the June book club discussion.
QOTW: Honestly, I prefer late spring over summer. It often gets into the 90s here, and it's always humid when it does. I hate it. I guess I am looking forward to eventually telling our families I'm pregnant- most likely in August.
The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling). I'm enjoying it so far. I love mysteries with endearing detectives, so this series is right up my alley.
QOTW: Heat! I am always cold and I hate being cold, so summer is the one time of the year I actually am comfortable. I don't even mind the crazy hot days, especially if we can go to the pool -- that's the other thing I love best about summer.
Written in My Heart's Own Blood - so far I'm liking it, it's far better than the last one in the series. I'm rather hoping she ends the series soon, however, as I feel like I need to read all in the series, but at the same time, the story has gotten a bit stale. I mean, how many historical figures do they need to encounter? What are they, Forrest Gump?
QOTW: Eh. I don't know. I'm not a huge summer fan, I don't enjoy hot weather. I love fall, however. But... if I had to choose... drinking on patios on the rare days that it is nice enough.
The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914. In honor of the centennial anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand next Saturday.

I've started The Goldfinch, July's book club selection. (It's a long one, so I wanted to give myself a little extra time.) So far, it's good but starts off sad. (Well, the rest of it may be sad too. :-)
QOTW: I'm not big on summer, I prefer air conditioning. Mostly looking forward to getting through to September, when I take my vacation sitting on a porch, staring at a lake for a week.

I finished The Golem and the Jinni this week. It was very good! I'm not sure what I'll read next - I have plenty of options, but nothing is calling to me - so I think I'll reread Fangirl this weekend for the discussion next week.
QOTW: I'm not looking forward to anything in particular this summer, except for a few days off in late July before the kids start the new school year.
I'm listening to John Dies At the End by David Wong. I can't remember the last book that literally made me laugh out loud. My kids keep asking what's so funny.
It's a basically a hilarious and gross horror story, which is not my usual thing, but I love it.
Qotw: I'm not digging this summer, to be honest. My kids are killing me. I guess what I enjoy about summer is that it's more socially acceptable to drink in the day time.
I am reading Eleanor & Park, I like it. I hope to have time tonight to finish it.
QOTW: We get such a short summer that I try to appreciate the beautiful days and be happy that I have air conditioning when it gets muggy! I am most looking forward to grilled food and drinking outside. Usually together!

Late to the party, but I stayed up to finish Gone West last night. And then I was still awake so I began The Assassination of the Archduke.
I've finished 2 more books for the mini-challenge this week:
June 7 is Belmont Stakes Day, the last race of the Triple Crown -- Read a book that has a 3-word title or is part of a trilogy. -- Dead Man's Chest (6/7-18)
June 21 is the longest day of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere) -- Pick a book that is shorter in some way (pages, title, author's name, etc.) for your next book. (Bonus: pick the shorter book for next book you read after June 21.) -- Gone West (shorter title) (6/18-21)
QOTD: It's actually winter here. And I just got a new pair of flannel sheets to celebrate. And today is the first pot of crcok-pot chili this season. But this coming summer (December - January) I'm heading home to the US for a cruise and a long over due in-person visit with my BFF. I haven't seen her since 2007!
I finally finished Water for Elephants for my IRL book club which met this morning. I'm also rereading The Immortal Rules and I'll be starting Panic by Lauren Oliver.
QOTW: I'm not a big summer person but my ILs added my DH and I to their boat club membership which gives us unlimited access for the summer so chilling on the lakes would be what we're most looking forward to.
I am reading "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou. Also just picked up "The 9th Girl" by Tami Hoag from the library today. That and "Orange is the New Black" are the choices for my bookclub so I'm on the waitlist for OITNB.
The thing I'm most looking forward to this summer... is summer being over? haha It gets so hot in Texas! I don't know, I've never liked summer. But someone's comment about it being generally acceptable to drink earlier in the day is pretty awesome.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't love summer!
I usually feel like I'm the only one who does love summer. You're definitely not in the minority!
Heat is one thing, but it's the humidity that kills me. I'm also fair skinned so I burn really easily. 75-79 degrees and partly sunny is my ideal day, lol.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't love summer!
Both DH and I dislike summer. We've always said that if we ever win the lottery, we will spend winter in both hemispheres rather than having to live through summer.
