Do we have a sticky one of these yet for questions, etc regarding potty training? Can we get one so we don't all end up asking the same questions as we all go through this at different times?

Ok, so here is my question...we used the 3 day training method beginning last Sat (almost a whole week). She will go on the potty but rarely asks to go. She only asks when she is avoiding bedtime and is clever enough to have figured out that that is the one request I will always honor even after stories and rocking. She stays dry for the most part but still averages one to two accidents per day. Is this normal? The way the book is written, it suggests they will be fully potty trained by the end of day 3. Am I missing something?
Zoe took a week before we went with no accidents. She didn't start asking to go until about a week and a half in. I was going off her cues, but she was holding it after the first week. I don't know how typical that is.
Oh I think 1-2 accidents a day is totally normal! It can take a couple weeks (or even months) for kids to be accident-free.
I have only just now stopped carrying around spare pants/undies everywhere. And DS2 has been PT since 22 months. (He only figured out #2s at Easter, though) But my point being, he was pee-trained right away and still had the occasional pee accident.
I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this, haha. And he'll probably wee on me later

Hahahaha! I HAD to leave the house (Father's Day) on day 2 even though it says you shouldn't but I brought like 5 pairs of underwear and leggings! I was basing it on the number of accidents she had on day 1, but we didn't even need one of them...it was quite comical to see my backpack full of little undies though!

The little undies just KILL me. Ahhhh!! So damn cute. Imagine how awesome undies must feel though, to the kids after wearing nappies all the time. So liberating! And soft.
Lincoln has been PTed since just after Memorial Day and he still has the occasional accident, like 3ish times a week? (for pee, he has yet to poop on the potty). It's normal!
This thread makes me feel much better we had one pee accident day 3 and one day 4. Also on day 4 we had one "start poop in underwear, finish on potty" and one that she told me she had to poop and we ran to the potty!
I was getting discouraged about the pee accident but maybe I shouldn't be?
Perfect timing. We are on day 3 and I hope things click today a bit. She pooped in the potty day 1. Other than that it's been mostly accidents. Nap is fine. She pees before and after and stays dry. Same with nighttime. She got up at midnight and peed, and then again in the morning. Dry all night. So far she's asked to go twice this morning since she first peed, but nothing. This is typical. Lots of trips to the potty, only potty on the floor/couch/me. I need the switch to flip today

It probably will! I thought for sure Lila was not going to get it, but sure enough, yep she did...just clicked the 3rd day...weird that it is so accurate like that!

I hope so. So far we've had 3 pee accidents. No successful potty. She's just too into whatever she's doing to stop. I'm beyond frustrated right now

Ok so we are at about day 9 without diapers. She has done fairly well but today my H came home from a very long trip (not sure if it related or not) and Lila has had like 5 accidents today including one after her nap, which she has never done. Wtf? I am so beyond frustrated and not sure what this means. She doesn't ask to go to the potty and just sort of watches the pee run down her leg. I tell her to let me know if she has to go pee, and she says no. Then when I know that she must have to go, I bring her in and fight her screaming to sit on the potty. When she sits, she does pee, but it is like a fight.
Oh oh and she hasn't pooped in 2 days, going on day 3. What the hell have I done?
andplusalso, she has learned to use "I have to go potty" at night as an escape mechanism. I am being played by a two year old, right? Help! Any advice welcomed!
We are there with you. Day 5. She's at about 3 pee accidents a day. No poop accidents and perfect nap and nighttime record. But she's not really telling us she has to go. We're reading the signs. I talked to day care today (we kept her home) and they said send her and not to worry. So, I have some Gerber trainers I'll send her in so they absorb some if she messes. I'm nervous though. I'm hoping the routine of other kids going will help her...I hope.
A did the night stall for a few days. She did not tonight. I have no advice. Just a glass if wine.

The kids that wake up with dry diapers, do they drink a lot before bed? What about a drink next to them overnight?
A wakes up with a very full pee diaper every morning, but he drinks a lot before bed and he sometimes wakes up asking for water. It seems like this will have to stop or we will have a bedwetting issue?
Lincoln is a month in and still has a pee accident occasionally, usually after a long nap. But he still will not poop on the potty! I cannot get him to do it. I'm going crazy! And he still doesn't go without a tantrum if we ask him, he likes to run the show and tell us when he has to go.
kemangel124 Lincoln always pulls the "go potty" card before bed, I just tell him he has one chance to go then it's bed time.
unclejesse Lincoln wakes up with a dry diaper 85% of the time but he doesn't drink anything after dinner or during the night.

She used to have a cup if water in bed and we removed that, even though she didn't drink from it much. We bought tiny Dixie cups and if she asks for water, she gets 1 small cup. She drinks a lot at dinner, but we don't give her anything after that. Also, at night we have been putting her to bed (8ish) and then waking her to potty when we go to bed (12). Then, I set my alarm for 7, which is a bit earlier than she usually wakes. If I were to let her wake on her own, she would pee within 10 minutes an she doesn't usually let us know she's awake. Hopefully this will be weaned a bit as she realizes she can wake up, go potty on her own, and go back to bed. It's been working.

I think they are all different with their bladder capabilities. My DS1 was dry overnight from his 2nd b'day. We would limit his water at dinner and none overnight.
On the other hand DS2 is addicted to his water bottle in bed, and wakes up with a soaked pull-up. Right now it doesn't bother me. Maybe when he's closer to 3 we will try to get him off it.
I wouldn't worry about A just yet! There's plenty of time to wean off the bedtime water, etc.

So B uses a pull-up at night? Ok that makes me feel a bit better. We had a horrible day full of accidents yesterday and I was losing my patience...mainly because I felt like I was missing her signs and then missing her accidents. I know this is a process but the whole "3day" thing is bothering me. I guess I am too literal and expected no accidents after the 3 days. Duh!

I think lots/most kids wear pull ups to sleep for a while. A has always been a dry sleeper who pees within minutes of waking, so I figured we'd give it a shot for sleep. And yes, SOOOO exhausting.
I sent my kid to daycare in cloth trainers today. I hope she isn't peeing everywhere. I'm thinking the novelty of the "princess bathroom" will help cue her. I hope. And the fact that they take her every hour. Another kid showed up in pull ups today, so at least she's not the only one. I'm stressing about her though.

I feel so stupid. I really did what the book said and got rid of all diapers...including pull-ups. Ugh, I feel dumb.
I'm sure A will do fine at DC today, even if she has accidents, it will be good for her to go potty somewhere else! Thank you and @starbound for keeping me sane and grounded during this transition!

Only 1 accident at day care!! That makes me feel so much better. I'm actually going to send her the next 2 days. Maybe consistency somewhere else will help is click.
kemangel124 totally don't worry about the 3 day thing. Think of it more as an intensive training period. My DS2 had consistent accidents the first 2 weeks at least.
And yes, he wears a pull-up overnight. I'm not fussed about it at all.
Hang in there, I know it's hard. It's so worth it when they are PT!!
I haven't read through this yet, but I think ill put underwear on her when I get back this weekend from being out of town, again. She's been using the potty pretty regularly for about a month but I didn't want to make the transition because of two weekends being away. No luck with poop yet and she still pees a lot in the night.
We also need to find underwear small enough. My mom said target had underwear but 25 pounds was the smallest.

Go by waist size. A is really skinny and the little cotton ones shrink and fit her fine in the waist. I have seen smaller ones online though
A was accident free today!! Even at day care. Yesterday she only had 1 accident at school and then 2 right when she got home. Today...perfect. It's promising. She did wet the bed last night though, which is a first in a week
My H has a 4 day weekend and we don't really have any plans, I think we might just go for it. Does anyone have a copy of the 3-day they're willing to email?
