Are you sure she was abandoned? Goats are clever fuckers and good climbers. It's possible she belongs to someone nearby and escaped, right?
Anyway, I'm happy she's happy and being well cared for!
She'd been in our neighborhood for a couple of nights.
I originally thought she was just lost, but the only one "farm" close by hadn't lost her.
Match that with her badly damaged hooves and how thin she is, it seems less and less likely.
We also stayed outside all afternoon watching for anyone possibly looking for a lost animal, and not a thing.
I've got my friends on Facebook still looking though just in case. They are sharing her picture. We've found dog's owners this way, so we figure it couldn't hurt.
Oh! I just thought I should post on Craigslist or see if anyone posted there.
It would be very unlikely that she could be pregnant. Goats are short day breeders which means they only ovulate when the days become shorter. Typically Sept to Nov. They only have a 5 month gestation.
I would looove to get more goats! Im glad you took her in.
