We close on the new house tomorrow. We plan on moving smaller things tomorrow after closing and Friday, then furniture on Saturday. The house is a short drive from our current place, and since we haven't sold yet, there's no rush/need to get everything out at once. But I would like as much at the new house as we can so the old house is clear for showings.
I really haven't done much packing yet. DS1 is at my in-laws today so I can get crap done. Any packing suggestions? I don't even know where to start.

I always use stuff that I already have to move things. If you have big luggage, throw heavy things like books and shoes in those to roll out instead of carry. Make sure to have the essentials like TP and soap at both locations. Also, I like my bed to be the first thing set up so I can use it to organize clothes but then I can get a good night's rest.
We moved last summer. We never did have to pay for any cardboard boxes...DH was shopping at the grocery store one day and asked if he could have some boxes...they gave him tons! And he went back whenever we needed more and they always had more for him.
Otherwise, I was 6 weeks postpartum...I have no tips on how to pack efficiently...I just threw everything in boxes! At least I remembered to label all the boxes with what was inside and what room it should go to in the new house.

I feel like that will be my system too. As long as it's in the right room, I'll be happy.
Label the contents of boxes and not just the room. You may want the tv remote on night one so that you can relax a bit after a hard day but you won't want to dig through 15 boxes labelled "living room" to find it.
