I'm so tired of messing with the different remotes for the TV's and Cable/DVR and the roku. My other annoying issue is that my H will pick up the remote from one room and take it into another because he's too fucking lazy to look for the one that's already in the room he wants to watch TV in.
Does anyone have one they love? Can you program different TV's on the same remote? Like I have a Vizio in two rooms and a Sharp in another.
We have Harmony 650 remotes. We like them a lot. You set up "actions" like Watch TV, Watch a Movie, or Listen to Music, then with your computer, teach the remote what steps to take with each component to complete the request.
We've had Logitech Harmony One for years and it's easily the best universal remote we've ever used. It has settings for all the things (tv, Xbox, blue ray, etc) and is straightforward to use once it's all set up.
We have the Logitech Harmony 650. Occasionally it will decide not to do what we ask of it (usually not turn everything on or off) but for the most part I think it works really well. And love having only 1 remote for everything.
Dave said he thinks you could rig it to work on multiple TVs but it wouldn't be very efficient.
We have a Harmony One, but it's been discontinued. It's by far our favorite. We haven't even bothered to upgrade because the new features aren't as good to us.
We have a Harmony remote, but we only have it set up for one entertainment setup (TV, Roku, cable box, DVD player, etc.). I got it for DH for Father's Day probably 5 years ago and it's still going strong.
If you have a smartphone or tablet, certain ones (like some in the Samsung Galaxy line) can be used as universal remotes. I haven't tried it so I don't know how well it works, but if you already have a device it might be something to look into rather than buying a new one.
