My DH is a pretty good dresser. He's into fashion and follows trends. Sometimes he is too trendy and that annoys me. Also he is blue/green color blind so sometimes he mixes colors that don't go together well. And sometimes he just dresses up too much. He wears ascots. It's just too much sometimes...
Oh and if DH finds something that he likes which is like once every 5 years because that's how often he shops, he'll buy five of that item. Ha because he hates shopping.
de-lurking... made it this far and just have to say it seems your H and my H are identical personality twins!

Mine has to dress up for work and refuses to dress up in his off time. No matter where we are going he wears faded jeans, hiking boots or Nikes, and some kind of shirt untucked. He even does it for nice nights out. His reasoning is because none of our guy friends dress up ever and if we're catching them at a gig he doesn't want to be overdressed. He also hates shaving and always has a 5 o'clock in his off time that's typically a week old. I told him last week on our Anniversary that I'll deal with the 5 o'clock shadow if he grows his hair out since he has super soft think hair.

Ha. Glad to know that my H isn't the only one who does this.
Before I came around he wore crew socks with jorts!! and jeans with bright white tennis shoes. Luckily he was open to getting new socks, shorts, and shoes that I approved.

JORTS! Yes! My H wears them, too! With bright white tennis shoes!
I wish he would push the boundaries a bit (I tried to convince him to wear a bow tie last month, for example, but he wasn't having it), but for the most part it's pretty great. He LOVES shoes and has a lot of great ones. And then he generally sticks to his "uniform" so not a lot of room for mistakes.
He doesn't like the way I dress though, I know that much. So I tend to stay away from criticizing his style at all as well.
Edit: also, kind of a weird thing, but he's super into bright and loud patterned socks and I love that about him. He's in a sock of the month club!
My BF dresses pretty nice when he isn't wearing his work uniform, but he has been known to create a random outfit and make me go out in public with him. The most recent, we were talking about going to the grocery store and he went in the bathroom and came back out with my clip in extensions clipped to his head with a hat on. Then proceeds to take an old pair of jeans and cut them into like 5 inch inseam shorts. Throws on a cut off muscle tank and some American flag flip flops and refused to change before going to the store. Yes, I had to walk around the grocery store with him looking like that, but it was pretty hilarious even though I was so embarrassed lol.
I don't think DH really ever dressed poorly. He wore A&F in high school in college but as soon as graduated moved onto J.Crew, BR, and Brooks Brothers. He always wants to look put together, especially for work. His work wardrobe is phenomenal. Gosh I love how he can put those outfits together. I've taught him how to mix high/low so he wears a Costco dress shirt with Nordstrom custom pants and Allen Edmonds shoes. His casual style is very reflective of the golfer he is. Golf polos and flat front shorts with casual sneakers or rainbow flip flops. NEVER cargo shorts. He really dresses quite well and with extremely minimal input from me.
I feel that guys fashion is pretty boring. It's shorts, pants, polos or button ups. Dh sticks to solids and stripes and he doesn't ever wear anything outside of that. If I want to add any variety to hiswardrobe I haveto do it via texture.
