Honestly one of the most amazing things I have eaten anywhere is from the food truck there that sells fried donuts with pudding and frosting and toppings on them.
Uchi - its a sushi restaurant. amazing food. former top chef winner paul qui (i think that's his name) was at the sister restaurant called uchiko. their sashimi dishes are way better than sushi rolls...

My friend works at Uchiko, so we've already got that on our radar!
Tortilla-fried queso catfish from Shady Grove! Otherwise, Castle Hill, Fon de San Miguel if it's still around...
Castle Hill is called Corazon now. It is pretty similar (same owner and chef), but the menu is more slanted toward interior Mexican. It is good, though. I like it best for lunch because their salads are yummy.
Fonda San Miguel is still around and awesome. I die for the shrimp in chipotle cream.
Getting Franklin's without having to wait in line is a really good presidential perk. It is so awesome. And I don't even like barbecue that much as a general rule.
How early do you have to line up on a weekday at Franklin BBQ?
You need to be in line before they open at 11am and expect to wait about 2 hours. So you can show up at 9ish, be among the first in when the doors open, and get your pick of the meat. Or show up at 11ish, get in at 1ish, and get whatever is left. I would get there by 10 to be safe. Any later than 11 and they will very likely run out of meat before you ever make it in the door.
