Help me figure this out in my head.
My boss & her dad gave me a $200 gift card to a baby boutique here. It's a cute place, but the clothes selection is really small. I've been there three times looking for stuff for either me or the baby, but nothing is catching my eye other than a pair of jeans. The jeans are $185 there.
I can get the exact jeans from Piperlime right now for $141 (plus use a 15% coupon that I have hanging around).
Normally I'd never pay more just to use my gift card, but I really don't feel like shelling out $100+ dollars of my "regular" money on another pair of maternity jeans (even though I know I'd wear them). I could just get the Piperlime ones and hold that other gift card, but I have no idea what I'd ever get. They have knick knacks and stuff, but nothing I'd ever really need.
So...WWYD - pay more for the jeans to use the gift card or buy them on the regular site and hope something comes around that you want on the card?
Is the baby boutique easy for you to get to? I'd probably get the jeans on Piperlime and save the giftcard. If you can get there easily; I'd like it'd be nice to have the $200 to the store for surprise items you need one baby arrives because I'm sure you'll feel like you'll already be shelling out tons of money on other items.

Yep - maternity jeans.
Baby boutique is really easy to get to. Problem is there's no diapers/toys, stuff like that. It's a teeny boutique. Small rotating stash of maternity clothes, small stash of baby clothes. They do have baby blankets, but most of it is pastel.
Lots of "custom" things like growth charts and wall hangings and stuff, but nothing I really need specifically. Could definitely end up getting little dish sets or something, but it would all be just random stuff unless they get some sweater dresses in for fall.
(They also have a small selection of non-maternity items like coozies and little cutesy wine glasses - like gift stuff, but nothing you ever really buy for yourself if that makes sense).
i personally would not pay more with the gift card (money = money), unless there is nothing else that you would ever get from the store in the near future.
I'd hold onto it for now. Maybe they'll get something in in the near future that you really like. Do they have any empire waist tops that you like or a cute dress? Maybe that's something you could wear post-baby too and then you wouldn't feel like you spent a lot on maternity clothes since you could also wear it after (I have a few empire tops, dresses that i didn't get for maternity but used for maternity and still use now). otherwise i'd hold onto and likely buy baby stuff post baby. maybe they'll get a cute Moses basket or something else in that you'd love. Or, can you ask them to specifically get something in for you? i'd be surprised if they said no.
