the pool wanted to organize a ladies night, would you expect it to be AT the pool?
My pool is trying to organize a ladies night - NEXT WEEK (the email just came out last night) - and they gave us three options. A wine & cheese kind of night by the pool, doing a painting night at the pool, OR go out to a bar.
I was a little "huh?" about the bar option. Not that I'm adverse to it, but when I think "Oh, a ladies night at the pool...." I actually think it will be AT the pool. As I'd be hanging out w/ the same people regardless, I'd really rather be at the pool anyhow vs going out to a bar.
i just found it an odd option.
(I think a ladies night might be a new idea for them. ANd with the last minute planning of it - I doubt it will be a success. The guys night, though- seems to be a huge success. Poker and beer at the pool and they are given at least 2 weeks notice!).
Why can't you have an open bar AT the pool? Yes, I'd expect it to be at the pool, and to include booze.
That's the other aspect - the adult's night "included" alcohol (I put that in quotes because we had to pay to attend. not a lot, but it was in addition to our annual fee). But the ladies night - they are also asking what you can bring if you attend. Alcohol or wine & cheese?
Um.... o.k.
I'd almost just rather rally my 4 friends who also belong and just arrange our own ladies night one night!
Those companies where you can either go to them or they come to you and they walk you through step by step how to make a painting? And you can drink while you do it?
It's become a HUGE thing in our area. Here's the website of one of our local companies:
