We used to travel a lot and I miss it so very much. I've got the travel bug and can't stop thinking about our next trip even though it won't be happening any time soon.
Where are some places that you have travelled with kids that was successful? We aren't really Caribbean/AI type people. We prefer to explore new places although I realize our travel style will change with the kid.
H is in training til November then has 6 months of probation so the earliest we could go would be next summer, so L would be 14-16ish months. Is that a crazy age to bring on a plane?
My current thought is to ask my best friend and her family to join us. Our Hs get along and our kids are 6 weeks apart. I figure that way we could trade off kid wrangling and maybe each get some adult time.
Anyway, help me dream. Where would you go in the summer/fall with 4 adults and 2 young toddlers. This is all very hypothetical of course!
We took DD for a few weeks in SE Asia when she was around 7 months. It went really well. People love babies and are very helpful. We're going to Italy in a few months when she's 16 months. Hoping it'll be a good trip.

I would be interested in hearing more about this Asia trip.
Not very exciting but in October we are doing a Montreal and Quebec City road trip. DD will be 6 months old.
And in March I am considering a Montreal and Ottawa road trip, DD would be 11 months. (Montreal is always in there because my dad lives there!)
After that, maybe next summer or the following (all depends on TTC for #2), I want to do a week by the beach in Nova Scotia and then a few days in Cape Bretton and a few days in PEI - 2 weeks total. DD would be either 15 months or 27 months.
We also want to do Alberta (Calgary and Lake Louise in particular) and BC (Victoria and Vancouver) at some point.

OP, I might do the UK if I were you. London seems like it would be decently child friendly, but it also might be nice to do something more low key in the countryside.
Flying with a 16 month old will probably suck, but the flight can only last so long you know?

My friend flew with her 14 month old to Italy. She flew into one city (can't remember which). Took the train to Pisa and then her parents picked them up and drove them to wear they were staying. Then at the end of the trip they took the train to Rome and stayed there for a few days.

Sorry I haven't signed on here for a few days. We were in Singapore for semi-work-related reasons. From there we took side trips to Thailand (Phuket area... we even went scuba-diving!), Myanmar (Yangon), and Malaysia (Malaca). Feel free to PM me if you want specifics!
