Honestly, I would book it and then tell them, look, this is a trip that has to be planned much further in advance than a couple months and the dates aren't flexible.
I mean, right? How badly would that go over?
I'm in this boat. They gave you permission, so can you tell them you already booked the trip based on their go ahead?
Yeah, I am an hourly employee, so they don't get to control my life. And usually they need us just as much as we need them. So.... I do what I want! Lol

Shit like that is a large part of why I left my last job. It's amazing how I always just took it for granted that hospital scheduling is a giant clusterfuck nightmare...but somehow my current job actually makes it work. Miraculous!

I wish there was more competition for hospitals here! But there aren't. So I'm stuck at this one.
Yeah, I had to trade a twenty-minute commute for an hour long one, but it has totally been worth it.
This is how to works at my work too. We get our vacation request forms in January, have to be turned in by February, we get final approval back by April 1 st. That is how they worked it out with our Union so there isn't much to be done but it is annoying because you can't book anything and it's almost half the damn year!
I would go ahead and book everything. Worst case scenario is you have to cancel. I am sure disney has a decent return policy as long as you cancel within their guidelines.
I think you're coming down with something and it's going to hit you full-force that week. Some of the side effects of this illness is somewhat darkened skin and a relaxed and happy nature.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards
All this. Disney does have an excellent cancellation policy as long as you cancel before 45 days out so book it and make your ADRs and FP ressies and just KOKO.
I'll be the voice of dissent...While admitting it is a dumb-ass system that they have set up, I can understand why they would tell you no...you can't pre-book your vacation week. There is a system in place (stupid as it may be). How pissed would you be if you found out that someone junior to you signed up for the time off you wanted months before sign ups even started?!?! You'd be here bitching about that person as well as the stupid manager who let her cut in line, and how that wasn't fair. It wasn't right that they told you yes and now are rescinding it. But I can understand why they won't let you jump ahead. They'd have to let everyone else do it too.
FWIW, I'd probably still book the vacation and take my chances.
I was low on seniority too in my last office and I wasn't able to take any time during the summer when my kids were home. I had to have my mom take my oldest to his middle school orientation because I couldn't even get that half day off. I hated it and because of that I came to hate them. I actually took a pay cut to get out of there.
I would reply that things have already been booked and paid for per their original approval.
The best system I have seen in a unit was a book with a calendar two years out. People could put in the request for whatever they wanted, first come first serve. You had to date and time your request. Typically if you were the top three you got the time off. Because that weekend trip on the fly doesn't trump the family reunion that has been in the works for a year and a half, you know?
