Those are fabulous. Do you know what you want to do for upholstery?
Not yet. They'll be in the formal living room and the plan for that room is still coming together. Right now I can envision using a solid navy or a cream. I'm wide open for suggestions though if you have any.

For a solid, I recommend looking at the Braemore Palermo line. It's 100% polyester, has a good rub count, and visually is beautiful. It has a low sheen, which gives is depth; it's soft; and available in lots of colors. My neighbor ended up using it on a reupholster of a chair, and it's beautiful.

Thanks! I'll take a look.
Part of me wants to go with a wild ikat pattern, but I'm nervous I'll get bored of it quickly. This is the best one I've found so far. Crazy?
I like that ikat, but I would probably do a solid for longevity since upholstery is so expensive. depends on the other textiles in the room though, maybe a pattern would be what you want. Also depends how much you get tired of things or if there are classic patterns that you've always liked and can see keeping around a long time.

Yeah, that's why I was leaning towards solid. I really wouldn't want to reupholster them again for at least 10 years, but ikat is very tempting. I'll probably play it safe and use the ikat for pillow covers or curtains which I can easily DIY.
Love the ikat, but not sure if I like it with that chair. I do like the idea of a pattern though...I was going to suggest using a pattern, but I don't have any particular fabric to recommend.
I was thinking more of a smaller scale pattern though, so that the circles wouldn't be overshadowed. Something modern, yet still subtle enough that you won't tire of it and it will last the test of time.
Our sofa is patterned with sort of an 'is it an animal print or wood grain or what?' kind of a pattern, but it isn't overwhelming and it actually reads pretty neutral. We can't see getting tired of it any time soon, and honestly, we've had solid color furniture that we have gotten bored with pretty quickly in the past, because it was boring to us. We prefer pattern even if it tone on tone, or texture. I do like the fabric that munkii mentioned though.
Thanks! Any chance you have a rec for a local upholsterer? I think I would completely butcher it if I attempted a DIY job.
I'm still looking for someone reasonable to do my James chair and ottoman.
I've heard good things about the shop in Feasterville. They did a set of recliners for a friend and they turned out very nicely.

I was also looking at a shop on Fabric Row.
I love the chairs. I'd skip the Ikat- it's this year's chevron, I'm afraid and those chairs are timeless. I'd probably do a silk- maybe a navy with a bee motif since they're trending Empire or maybe Sheraton. Jack B had a swell one before the fire. He, Wilks or Marmelstein probably have just what you need.
