I'm super fair, so I am a serious sunscreen user when it comes to being outside for any length of time (beach, day games, etc.). I've been using this for the last couple of years:
It works great. The problem is that is has stained the shit out of two navy blue bathing suits. One is beyond help and LE discontinued it, which made me so sad. The other is a Tommy Bahama suit that I was able to clean somewhat with two rounds of baking soda/dish detergent, but I can still see some marks. Basically, it looks like I got in a fight with my deodorant and the deodorant won. I prefer dark suits and I can't keep ruining them. Do you have any sunscreen recs that won't ruin my stuff?
Seriously? Fuck. That's what we use and it's all H will use on his face because he hates the greasy feel of sunscreen. I haven't had any staining yet but we only use it on our faces. We use the Neutrogena spray on our bodies. I guess we'll keep it that way because I'd be pissed if it stained my Miraclesuit. Those things aren't cheap.

Yeah. I flipped the bottle over the other night when I was trying to figure out how to get the shit out of my brand new suit, and it says "may stain some fabrics" in tiny print under "Other Information." During my Pinterest and Google searches I read that the avobenzone can cause the staining. It also causes yellowing on white suits. I was pissed.

I'd be pissed, too because I'd never expect a sunscreen to stain since you're slathering it all over your body and it always gets on the suit at some point. We've been using the spray in the silver can all summer and haven't had any issues so far. I'll still use the dry-touch on my face because it really is an awesome sunscreen, but I'll be careful not to get it on my suit. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the heads up about the spray!
I'm also going to check out the Coppertone. It's hard being translucent.

Be careful with the sprays, though, because with aerosol they may still spray even if the actual sunscreen is gone. So you may think you're getting covered in sunscreen, but not. That's happened to a few people I know.

Oh, really? We've used aerosol for years and I can always feel it because it's always cold. And I still rub it around our bodies so I physically feel it on me.

I don't use the spray so I don't know if there's a difference in how it feels.
I have this under my kitchen sink, and saw a suggestion to use it, but I was nervous. Have you done it? Maybe I'll give it a shot on the suit I thought was beyond help.

Yeah, just like hairpsray, you can see it, feel it and even hear it when it's out. Were your friends drunk? lol
I use the same stuff for when I'm not going to be swimming. I have never noticed it stain my dark clothes, but it has discolored my light clothes a weird tan color. Hmmmm
