This still bothers the crap out of me. I don't understand how it got to the point where you see this, "Then they discovered Melody's phone was logged in to one of Danielle's Instagram accounts." and don't immediately ground both kids.
NO, no! That's how they made the chilling WITHOUT A DOUBT realization that the phones themselves were hacked!!
Obviously I don't know the backstory but I just remember how much I used to think being a blogger would be great. I like to write and talk about myself and free shit would be nice. But no. Bad plan. People who attract attention to themselves invite drama.
It also sounds that it's possibly a case of the dramatic apple falling not far from the dramatic tree. I mean, her own mother submitted that to ripoff report? That's...unusual to say the least.
That article left me feeling like the girls are right, Danielle is bad, and we are victim blamers.
not sure that was what I was supposed to feel.
The problem was that it started off by implying that Danielle was indeed responsible, and it took a while to get to the implication that the girls are attention-seeking, lying sacks of shit, and the parents are either complicit or the dumbest human beings on the face of the planet. An article like this should have laid out a roadmap at the start to explain where it was headed rather than going for Hollywood-style misdirection.
I just hate that when it inevitably comes back that the call really was coming from inside the house the entire time (not just some super hacker wiz- kid making it look that way with her connections at Time Warner), this will probably just quietly go away.
There will be no public admissions of "our daughters are total assholes that took us for a ride" or profuse apologies made to J and her family for dragging their names through the mud, no anything involving these idiots and their bratty kids actually learning a lesson. And that makes me sad.
As an aside, I think that really that whole section leading up to that tweet was handled poorly in the article. All the mommy bloggers tweeting nonsense to a child, leading up to the mommy blogger herself making that snide ass remark about prison rape .... I think the craziness of that whole scene could have been a bit clearer.
