I dropped off my rental car in it last night. I forgot it in the console. The rental place wasn't open so I called first thing in the morning. It wasn't there. The van got cleaned out last night.
I asked them to call the guy that cleaned the cars last night. They did. He didn't see it. Right.
I logged in to put it in lost mode on iCloud. It's in the shitty side of town. I'm waiting for a call back from the cop that handles stuff there.
I'm SO pissed at myself. It's a 64gb with LTE. Anything else I should do?
We lost our GPS this way. The rental agency said that when they found a non-inventory Garmin that they'd flag it. Yeah, right. Good thing I didn't hold my breath. Despite dozens of phone calls, nada.

Check your credit card too, mine has some cool, but strange rental car coverage, I would not had thought of had I not been super board one day and read about it.
What an idiot. I could see some random person taking it, but he works for the rent a car place.

Sorry you have to deal with this. I second the recommendation to check with your cc company. We just rented a car for almost two weeks while on vacation, and our cc included pretty decent coverage. I'm pretty sure having belongings stolen from inside the car was covered under the theft provisions.

Mr. P's got stolen out of his truck. His IT dept turned on the iCloud and the cops got it back.

WTF! How do people not know how the iPad tracking works and that she 's already busted if the police are talking to her. This isn't exactly a new thing. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this!
Wow! Does she know the GPS says it's there? What did she think would happen.. She'll take the iPad and the owner is just going to be like oh well. That's crazy. Hopefully you get it back soon.
That really sucks. My house was robbed on Friday, and if I actually knew where all my stuff was I would be in a firey rage until it was returned. I hope that you get your ipad back.
I can't believe she's still playing dumb, even with the officer telling her he won't report the incident to her employer if she returns it. She should return the item, consider this a lesson learned, and move on. Imagine all of the guilt she's carrying on her shoulders by not complying. (Okay, maybe not?) Smarten up, lady!
