Anyone have a resource comparing the width of the Chicco Nextfit and Radian? I know the Radian is the narrowest but Iirc the Nextfit has a slightly taller shell that I would prefer.
I'm trying to determine if I could put two Nextfit in the third row of my 2014 Sienna and still have room for a small third person or if I need to go with the Radians.
Since I will have 3 rear facing for the forseeable future I have to 2 in the third row in order for me to have access to the third row. Rear facing seats in the captains chairs make it impossible to access the third row. Right now with the chicco key fits it doesn't matter because we just remove one to access the third row.
I have both! The Nextfit is in my CR-V and the Radian is in DH's Acura TSX.
IME, the space the Nextfit takes up from front to back is not that much less than the Radian at all. It is narrower, but width wouldn't really matter if you have two in the third row bench.
I will say that the Nextfit profile is way more... deep? though. It's much much more cumbersome to take DD in and out of the Nextfit than it is the Radian. Two back there would be really tight just logistically for the actual putting in/taking out.
H was just saying that. It would be easier to get them in with the Radians. We have Radians in our CRV and compared to the Britax and the First Year True Fit we have which I would expect to be more similar to the Nextfit they would definitely be harder to get them into.
Bonus is that Diono has fancy new seats coming out, so there will hopefully be good deals on Radians.
Ooh, any idea when? I need to order another Radian, but I keep waiting for a sale or a good deal.
Any time now. Amaxon has them already. Most places are actually sold out of the old radians I found. I got 3 rxt in the color storm at target.Com for 272 each.
