So, O got diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth last Saturday. She's been out of daycare all week, and I'm taking tomorrow off work to watch her. She's looking pretty good and seems to have cleared up, is it insane of me to schedule her doc appt tomorrow to get her vaccine shots? Cruel? Normally, I would just wait but I had to use PT for a day last week and will tomorrow and am hesitant to miss more work next week, so this really comes down to nervous about taking a lot of PT in a month and possibly irritating my boss.
Is she getting an MMR? If so, it caused DS to rash and fever, and he had to stay home from DC. So, if you wait, you run the risk of having to stay home again due to that. I would say if she's feeling alright, and the pedi is fine with it, I would do it since you are already planning on being off. And honestly, even if she's not doing the MMR, if she's done okay with shot's in the past, I think I would do it. No reason to drag out feeling bad over a couple of weeks for two different reasons.
I love me some vaccines but I would probably wait a little longer. My opinion here is based on my own personal experience with HFM--even though I physically felt better within a few days (no more sore throat, etc), it really knocked me on my ass for a good week or two. I was really tired and just didn't feel 100%.

I would do it. C had MMR and Chickenpox vaccines at the 12 month visit. He didn't react to the vaccines until 11 days after.... so the fever/rash was (as I was told it would be) really delayed.
Hmm, ok. I emailed the doctor's office, so we'll see what they say. I'm pretty sure she's getting her MMR, and she hasn't had issues with other shots, but it sounds like a doozy.

No way would I give MMR right now. If she is not well enough for daycare I would not want I give any live vaccine, but especially MMR. There is a good chance you will need to take time off at some point after the shot.

Leo had his year appt. and vaccines on Monday, but we chose to delay MMR for a month since we're about to go on a long road trip. I would prefer to be close to our doc in case he as a reaction, since that one in particular seems to give kids trouble.
As far as taking time off from work is concerned, I'm not sure if getting them tomorrow would negate you needing more time off because I've heard that the reactions usually pop up a day or two after the shot. You might end up having to take off a day next week anyways if she reacts badly Kid sickness is so frustrating for everyone. Hugs.
