I have been running on the treadmill (for the first time) for the last few weeks. It's too hot to run in the evening, and I have to leave for work at 7am (cannot get up early enough to run, take care of dogs and be out if the house at 7. Just can't.).
I am sooooooo slooooooooow.
I am not sure of this is because of running on the treadmill or because I moved from 800ft above sea level to 5200 ft above sea level 6 weeks ago.
Is anyone else way slower on the treadmill or should I be chalking this up to the altitude still?
It's probably a combination of the two factors that are making it harder to run. But I always run slower on the treadmill. For some reason, it just makes running feel a lot harder. I know that lots of people on here will agree.

I don't know if I actually run slower on the treadmill or if the speed is just not set the same as my stride. I can never run the same pace that I run outside, though. I also find the distance to be off a bit. I usually just run for time when I'm on the TM
I run much slower on the treadmill and every step seems harder. For me, running on the treadmill is much more difficult than running outside. I can barely take 3 miles on the dreadmilll, and quiver at the thought of anything more.

Ok, good to know it's not just me. According to the treadmill, my pace is 1.5-2 mins per mile slower than what I was running outdoors before I moved. shocking.
I find the treadmill generally easier BUT I live in a pretty hilly area; when I'm on the treadmill I just set it for an even 1.0 slope and 6.1 speed. But I also think the treadmill is just boring so it seems longer & harder sometimes
