Hey everyone. I know I haven't been around much lately. But I wanted to share that my dr. has scheduled my induction for next Tuesday (due to the fact my gestational diabetes is medication managed). I will be 39 weeks on Tuesday, so I'm ok with being induced at that point. Granted, I really hope the baby decides to come before then. I've been having irregular contractions for about 2 weeks now, so I'm hoping they pick up.
I'm feeling excited, anxious, scared....all over the place. It's still surreal on some level that I will be having a baby by next week (at the latest!). I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by. Of course it seemed to be crawling at first.
So I guess I better enjoy my last baby free weekend
Yay! I know there's a lot of "bad" induction stories out there but I was induced with my first and it was fine. In fact I had scheduled an induction for yesterday (day after my EDD, little man had other ideas though) since it went so well the first time. Just make sure you eat something before you go in, they probably won't let you eat and I was starving during my induction!
I also had a great induction experience. I recommend bringing your own pillow since you'll likely be there overnight and hospital pillows are terrible.
If I could be induced and have it go the same as my first - I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
That was my plan! My induction was long but I loved knowing what day things were going to start. While the whole water breaking thing was kind of exciting in hindsight, at the time it just sent me into a panic.

Good luck and congratulations!
FWIW, both of my kids were born via induction (the first at 40w for medical reasons, the second at 39w 1d by choice) and my experiences were excellent. Just over 10 hours start to finish with #1 and almost exactly 5 hours with #2, no complications at all.
