i am not doing anything intense for L's party but i figure i should at least order the invites soon since they take awhile to arrive, right? i was thinking of sending them out 3-4 weeks in advance.
if you are planning your DD's party i would send out invites soon.
Yeah I tend to get twitchy at the 1 month mark.. Which is where I'm at with DD's 8/16 party.
I thought I'd just send evites this year first because, it could be done like tonight and second because she wants to invite dance friends and school friends and I don't have addresses. So I'd have to email the parents to get the addresses or dig around online to find them and blah, blah, blah I leave the country Tuesday
So evites and the like are good, right friends? It's her fourth birthday and I've sent cute little etsy designed stuff every other year. Once this is finished I'll have to get on planning DS1's 1st birthday in September
I do approx a month, but usually let people know verbally before that. For her first birthday, we did printed and mailed invites. This time I made a FB event

For the family party I send invites 8 weeks in advance, minimum, but 100% of the guest list is traveling from out of state. I want them to have time to make travel arrangements if they want to come. It's almost always Columbus Day weekend, though (since the holiday gives an extra day for travel to those who need/want it) so they pretty much know even before the invites arrive.
For the girls' friends, I aim for 4 weeks but as long as I get them out at least 3 weeks in advance that's usually been enough notice for a good turnout.
