My H couldn't sleep so got up at 4. Knocked into one of DSs toys which loudly sang and woke me up.
So I waited till the coffee shop opened at 6 and went for my favorite iced coffee with almond and a splash of cream. Got a large, which is $4.19. I watched her pour no less than 1/2 cup of half and half in. And I silently cried. I don't want to drink a coffee with 2,000 calories in it. Waahhhh. Although it is very creamy and delicious!

Today was DH's morning to get up with the baby, except my stomach hurts so I was up anyway.
DH also drunkenly bought us tickets to see Once next weekend, which is awesome, except the site didn't accept the first transaction, so DH had to redo it. However, the money seems to be withdrawn from the account, so there is like $500 pending in charges on our debit card. Grrrr.
Dd1 is close to getting throttled. By either me or dh. Day 5 of chickenpox and being housebound is wearing thin. Especially as she's not sickly with it. I've just sent dh to the ILs with dd2 for a visit/break. We've at least another 2 days of this. This was dd1 the other day:
I was thinking about taking the kids to mass by myself, but nope lol. Losing my shit in the house of The Lord is frowned upon and the risk is too high after several wake ups last night and being on day 6 of OOT DH.
Today will be a fun day though. German festival and then dinner with my dad.
H and I slept until almost 8:30! I was so nervous that we'd "waste" our special no-kid morning by waking up at 6. Now we're going to drink coffee and take a bath in the jacuzzi tub.
First kid-free night here too. DH can't sleep in anymore, he's programmed to wake up at 6. So he quietly and happily went downstairs and drank coffee and watch a horror movie, and I slept in until 8:45! I'm about to make us breakfast.
I'm trying to convince myself to get out of a bed for a run before dd wakes up. I am not motivated.
I also need to spend some time today working through our budget to see I we can afford another baby. My instinct is that we can't yet. I'm not sure how I feel about it, so I need data/ information to tell me how to feel!

We are going to the state fair today. It shouldn't be too hot which is usually why we don't go. I just hope DD doesn't hate being in her stroller so much.
My MIL is all on me about DDs sippy cup addiction. She's all anti-them and I'm all whatever. Usually what happens at Grandma's can stay at Grandma's and Grandma's Rules are Grandma's Rules and all that but it's really bothering me. I don't see the big deal. It's more of a travel mug style sippy so no impact on her teeth, she drinks mainly water,a fair amount of milk, and a bit of REALLY watered down juice once in a GREAT while. She eats as well as any 3 year old. She drinks fine out of an open cup. I think Grandma's standards are too high. I also don't want to take it away because it is a bit of a comfort (never had a paci, no lovey, doesn't care about a blanket). Like for FFS let the kid have something.
I think it stems from SIL who is like the food police to the point it's obnoxious. Since SIL doesn't let her kids carry a sippy I shouldn't either..ha. SIL is convinced kids won't eat well if they have access to a sippy (which I see, but that's not my kid at all).
I have bigger battles to fight (like kids who listen the first time, good manners, trying not to make my kids future criminals) to care about a damn sippy.
*I have bought 2 rugs in the last week. Ordered the first and changed my mind. Picked out another. Attempted to cancel the first but I won't know until Monday if it went through. It's like $500.00 worth of rugs and I don't even care when I should. I'll just sell the first on CL to some kid who needs a dorm rug, throw it in Exchange Student's room or save it for our sunroom next summer (it's a cute rug I love...it's just too dark for the space I decided). I'm not eventing telling H about it, so hopefully I can intercept the UPS man before he does..ha.
*We went to my brother's b-day party last night. He's 8 years younger and in a different phase of life than me. I got really drink off of tippy cup and cheap beer. Can't say it wasn't awesome.
*I bought a lifetime supply of Method handsoap refills off Amazon on super sale. $19.99 for like 8 refill packs. It's a lot of soap..ha. Good deal though.
H took DD out to breakfast, so I am going to attempt to clean or exercise with the little guy. We have a 1st birthday party this afternoon.
Weather this weekend has been awful -- 60s and rainy. This is the South in July, people! I'd rather be sweating.
This is making me laugh because I'm pretty sure we're in the same city and I've been loving this weather. It's been nice to take V on nice long walks and not feel like I'm on the surface of the sun, lol
This is probably twy sentwa but uh, my kid can identify letters. Like most of the alphabet on sight and numbers up to 10. I have no idea when or how he picked this up (maybe Sesame Street, ha) but H and I are both sort of like, "is that normal for his age?" He goes around just pointing this shit out. What?
Brie I learned the alphabet from Sesame Street too so I wouldn't be surprised!
DD got up at 7:15 and dh took her some milk and her box of toys and she slept some more and then played quietly until he got back from his run at 9:30! So I got to sleep in and dh got a 7 mi run in. Sweet! He is mowing the lawn now and I'm hoping to sneak off for some shopping and a pedicure this afternoon. Then hopefully we'll hit the pool tonight.
I woke up early to make everyone breakfast. My critics were rough. According to my little cousin my pancakes suck and are a 5 out of 10. My bagels were overt toasted according to my dad. Next time they can all make their own breakfast
I'm going to visit friends tonight and it's a 2 hour drive, but worth it.

There was a house fly buzzing around our kitchen all morning. It was a great babysitter. Ds basically just ran back and forth with his arms straight up in the air shouting "a bug, a bug, catch!" while I sat at the table and enjoyed breakfast.
@kirkette Tea Collection is awesome! What is especially great for girls is they can wear the dresses as tunics/shirts long after they've outgrown them as dresses. Just pair with jeans or leggings and voila! It also has high resale value at consignment sales.

Ugh, I feel like I've been running all morning, cleaning/food prep/ packing for my trip and now dd is napping, I'm enjoying 30 minutes of sit on my ass time. Of course H decides it's urgent to touch up paint and he's all pissy that I'm not leaping up to help him. Sorry dude, your choices, not my problem.

I woke up at 6:15 today and couldn't fall back asleep, grrr. The kids slept in till 9.
DS loves the childcare at the gym. Like begs to go each weekend morning. So I was pressured to go workout today by my DS's love of the childcare center
Our oldest cat turns 19 today! He's a cranky old man in many ways, but he still chased the balls the kids bought him and went nuts for the catnip.

I bought DD some 4t dresses during the sale (last month?) and they already fit her well. Holy growth spurt, I should have sized up more.
DD2 had her last visit with birth mom yesterday. DD1 was with her, DH, and CPS worker and wanted nothing to do with it, just clung to daddy's leg.
While this was happening, I was at my moms for her auction post my dad passing away. He had agreed to it before he passed, but my friend and I both ugly cried when the bidding started.
We all went out to eat after around 7 pm and MIL joined us. For some reason she thinks it is perfectly fine to give a 2 year old a diet Pepsi. I told her no, so MIL tried to sneak it to her as soon as my head turned and I caught her. I have no shame scolding her. Currently DD gets milk, water, and occasional juice from us.
