Have any of you had placenta previa that never resolved like me? I had a complete previa and bleeding at 31 weeks that led to bed rest for a week, then another bleed at 33 weeks that led to delivery.
If so, what are your thoughts for another kid? Does the recurrence of a previa or an even scarier version of a previa (acreta) scare you
As my baby nears a year I keep thinking about another baby. The risks of another previa scare me and honestly I'm not sure if I want to have another kid because I want a "normal" pregnancy (which is highly unlikely, I had a lot of issues throughout the pregnancy) or if I truly want another child. Just curious to know what others are thinking.
H was not exactly on board with #3, (current 30w pregnancy) but as a result of previa has declared himself done and headed for a snip.
Haven't had any bleeding, just some spotting after sex at 8-10ish weeks. (Before pelvic rest was declared) - I've had spotting after sex while not pregnant and didn't see that as a warning until 12w u/s
But, also 3 under 5, and turning 35 this year, so other concerns for successive pregnancies.
@starry I am not sure of the exact chance of recurrence but I certainly have several risk factors for occurrence: c-section due to previa, asherman's syndrome (uterine scarring), I would likely need I've or a frozen embryo transfer (still have 3 on ice) and I would be older (almost 33 now, I would probably be 34-35). And, I do know that if it did recur it's highly likely to have placenta acreta where the placental cells invade the myometrium of the uterus. That could mean I would have to have a hysterectomy at delivery or more risky delivery and require more blood transfused... I had 2 units of blood transfused at delivery.
Ugh now that I type that all out that sounds really terrible....
