I could use some sleep advice and/or stories about sleep training background- DS is about 5.5 months. He was a great sleeper from like weeks 4-14 regularly slept 7-9 hours a night. Has always been a crappy napper. I went back to work at 14 weeks. At week 16 sleep totally feel apart with hours to go down each night and multiple wake ups. Sometimes the wake ups are just to eat sometimes they are 1-2 hours. We have had some illness in there which is a factor and then one random good week. For the past few weeks he has been sleeping in the swing in our room due to congestion and only having one air conditioner. A few days ago he started reflux meds to see if that helps. I really wanted to sleep train at 6 months but now dr wants us to wait til his next apt to see if the meds work before we try. a huge problem is he has always been nursed to sleep and I don't know how to break it. He screams hysterically if he is not. DH thinks we should try to wean to just bottles before bed to try and break this (which would mean eventually adding in formula because I already hate pumping). I'm not sure part of me is done but at the same time and almost afraid to stop breast feeding (completely irrational I know). At daycare he goes down for a nap drowsy but awake no problem. Any advice, positive stories of sleep training (how long I took did you have a limit for crying ect) or any other technique you used. sorry so long thanks for reading it if you did

For the nursing, I broke that very early, and I basically just started doing it earlier in the routine. Nurse, bathe (if it's a bath night) pajamas and sleep sack, stories/rocking/pacifier, put in crib. I'd be annoyed by having to pump more myself, so I basically nurse A when I first get home at 6:00 then we play for a short time, then start the bedtime routine at between 6:30 and 6:45.
