This might be a silly question but does your toddler sleep with a sippy or straw cup of water? My LO only sleeps with a stuffed animal. We tried putting a pillow but since she moves around a lot it got in her way so we try to keep her crib pretty empty.
last night was the first night that she woke up in the middle of the night asking for water.
If she makes this a habit can we just leave a sippy in the crib? Is it bad for the teeth? Or only if it milk.
She has a straw cup in bed with her, I have no concerns about her teeth but I do worry about potty training if she's going to drink water all might. She doesn't seem to ever take more than a sip or two though, it's mainly a comfort thing I think.
My older two like water at night. As long as it doesn't lead to several overnight potty trips and/or wetting the bed, I have no problem with it.
Edited to add, yes to a sippy cup in the crib/bed. I break out the big guns with the valves that actually work verses the take and toss to make sure they don't leak all over the place overnight.
Nope. Maybe when he is older (and beyond the point of nighttime accidents after we PT) but we have to limit how much he drinks during the day anyway, otherwise he'll drink all.day.long.

It started as a toddler, and at 5.5 yrs old DD still needs to have that sippy cup of water in bed with her. Otherwise I get woken up in the middle of th enight asking for a drink.
Yes, but it's milk. I know, it's bad. We tried transitioning him to water but the ONLY liquid he'll drink is milk or Pediasure. The good thing is that he's obsessed with brushing his teeth... he asks me "teeth?" like 10 times a day!
We're working on switching him to water at least, but mama needs her sleep and he's not a happy camper without his milk!
Yes, we do a sippy of water at night so we don't have to worry about spilling the bed. Very small amount of water. He does straw cups (or cups with no covers) the rest of the time.
