Can we talk about skincare? What is your routine? I specifically need recs for an eye cream and face moisturizer. But I'm interested in other products too.
I'm 32 and currently just wash my face with Cetaphil and usually skip moisturizer. I have some Olay lotion but don't use it. I really need to start using anti-aging products I think. Especially around my eyes.

I use vivite (from my derm) but the basics are:
Evening: Remove make up (I just use a baby wipe) Cleanse in the evening with my cleanser Exfoliate (3-4x a week) either with my clarisonic + salycic acid or glycolic acid wash Anti-oxidant serum (all over face and throat) eye cream sometimes add a heavier cream to dry patches (combo skin)
Morning: Rinse face with water anti-oxidan serum sunscreen
AM: Wash with peter thomas roth face wash -http://www.sephora.com/anti-aging-cleansing-gel-P39274?skuId=571265 Origins vitazing Make-up as usual *if I want a bit more coverage/big day at work I'll do moisturizer with NARS bb cream over top
I've been using the oil cleansing method and I really like it so far. I use a blend of grape seed oil and castor oil to cleanse, then I use a homemade toner of apple cider vinegar, camomile and green teas, and tee tree oil. It works well.
I like clinique. I wash my face in the shower and at night (if I'm not showering at night).
Wash with foaming cleanser or seven day scrub cream. Toner...started using this a couple of years ago and now I can't go without! Eye cream at night Eucerin q10 firming cream on my face and neck at night Regular clinique moisturizer at any other time of day
Please explain why I need these things using simple language, lol.
Also, is there a product that will reduce my freckles/sun spots?
Anti-oxidant serum will protect your skin from free radicals (irritants, pollution, UVA/UVB rays, smoke etc) that can damage your skin and cause sagging, wrinkling and can also dull your skin. I've read that serums that contain Vitamin C, E and Ferulic Acid are most effective.
IMO, most eye creams don't do much for wrinkles. They mostly provide moisture to the eye area and make fine lines/wrinkles look softer. I use an eye cream that also has SPF 30, so it softens the wrinkley areas and gives sun protection to fight against future sun damage.
For existing freckles/sun spots, I've heard that products containing hydroquinone will lighten them, but I think it really depends on how dark your freckles/sun spots are. If they are newish and lighter toned, the hydroquinone product will probably help (in addition to wearing a high SPF and staying out of the sun, and wearing a hat.) My spots are pretty dark, so I think that I need to see a derm about getting them lasered off, or something. My doctor has mentioned putting me on Retin-A since that is the most effective anti-wrinkle product, but I've used it before and cannot get past the 3/4 months of acne purging. I've never had good luck w/ it due to that.
Anyway, I'm not a skincare expert, so if I have some of my details wrong, anyone feel free to jump in and provide the correct info!
(Also, when did you change your SN?!? Are you who I think you are => RBF?)
This is helpful. I don't worry as much as I probably should about wrinkles, but my neck is getting squishy, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
