so i don't know if the recalls on peaches are everywhere, but just today i got a call from wegmans and TJs had signs everywhere about peaches being recalled for listeria.
L has eaten a ton of peaches in the time frame they specify.
so, just to be safe i look up symptoms because while i am not worried about her getting it i just want to know what to look for if she acts weird.
one symptom is lethargy.
L has been insanely tired in the last 72 hrs. like, wants to go to bed right after waking up and lays around until i put her down for a nap. she naps 5hrs during the day and sleeps 12+ at night too.
so my h connects these things and is all "omg call the dr now! L has listeria!"
i am not calling because i refuse to look like a crazy person, and he is insistent that i should, "just to he safe."

What are the other symptoms? If that is the only one she has, it is probably OK and I wouldn't panic, but I would still call to see what to do. I don't know if there is a test for this, or if there is a way to narrow the outbreaks down by brand/farm/region, but calling may give you some insight.

gastro symptoms that resemble stomach flu, and fever. i took her temp earlier today because she's been acting weird and it was 98, so she's fine.
that's partly why i think my h is nuts. she's just super sleepy. i figured it was a growth spurt because she is eating so many solids (her formula intake is holding steady around 20oz).
I'd call with the lethargy. Your doctor's office is not going to think you are crazy (but who cares if they do?).
We just got the robocall about the peaches from Wegmans too; DD2 and I have been housing them lately. She did have a rough night Saturday (lots of wakeups and felt hot but did not register a fever) but I think it's teething.
I wouldn't call either. When she's awake, is she alert/active wanting to play a lot? If she's not I'd be worried. If she is, she's probably just a growing tired girl who likes her sleep. I remember DD going through a long nap phase a bit before a yearish too. There is more to lethargy than just sleeping according to my pedi.
That said, it doesn't sound like lethargy to me. It sounds like she's sleepy. There's a big difference, but if you aren't sure which is which, it's always a good idea to call. DS1 has been lethargic once in his life...we took him straight to the ER. It was the scariest time in parenting. (& was a super fast stomach bug...he literally ran out of the ER 2 hours later, but was almost unresponsive when we took him in). I just had a conversation recently with our ped nurse about sleepiness vs. lethargy. She said "you'll know it when you see it...but most parents think the tiredness that comes with viruses or milestones can be lethargy. It's definitely not." But, she also said lethargy warrants an immediate call to the Dr...and usually you're best to just go straight to the ER (not urgent care).
DS1 slept at least that long every day until he was 18 mo, so the time sleeping isn't worrisome to me. The difference, however, was that he was a wild man between sleep times!
(Climbing out from under my rock to Google this peach thing while devouring a delicious peach.)
I am in general not one to call the doctor for every little thing, but waking up exhausted and napping 5 hours a day would make me call just to be safe.
we are going in tomorrow so they can check her out and see what she is like.
the nurse seems alarmist too because she was asking me all these questions so she could rule out leukemia or diabetes. she now thinks virus or growth spurt based on details. i mean, good thing i am not an anxious person because that doesn't seem like a good thing to tell a mother.
