Does anyone else have this? I have a little pooch of fat above my incision. How long does it last and how can I make it go away?
I initially thought it was swelling, but it goes flat when I lay down, so I'm thinking it's fat? It's noticeable when I'm in my underwear, so I can only imagine how obvious it'll be in a bathing suit (and we spend so much time in the lake in the summers normally). :/
I keep scaring myself with google, which says a tummy tuck is the only answer. I'm only 5 weeks out so I know I'm being impatient, but the the thought of a perma-fupa makes me want to cry. I have less than 15 lbs to get back to my pre-pg weight of 135, fwiw.
yeah, still got it 2.5 years later. I've been down to my pre-pg weight and still had it, but admittedly my abs are in terrible, terrible shape. Plus I had 2 c/s within 22 months.
I will have to worry about this as well. I'm thinking since it's only been 5 weeks, that with clean eating and exercise it will go away.
Do you plan on exercising once you get the all clear?
Omg, yes. I'm dying to start working out right now but have kept it just brisk walking with the stroller. And I'm not one who usually gets excited about exercise.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Just don't push yourself too hard too quickly. My incision got sore and my bleeding came back at 7 weeks pp (after being gone for 2 weeks) when I started working out again.

I do not have one, but I don't think I actually ever did? I do have a slight stomach pooch, but not above my scar like you are saying. I do think loosing weight and getting more toned do help it.
I have a super tiny one but I wear bikinis and it's not noticeable. It will go away! And I agree with the others not to push yourself. I was going on 1-2 walks daily around 3 weeks pp and ended up ripping my incision a little and had to take some time off to heal (again).
I am back at pre-pg weight (NOTHING to brag about) but it's still there. It doesn't help that my OB put the scar there because I already had a small pooch there anyway. It went away when I lost weight, but I wanted to tell her "Thanks for making it permanent!"
At 5 weeks out though, I think you still have a fighting chance!

5 weeks out is still very early and you're still healing. Give it 4-5 months and you'll se a lot of change. My scar is flat and barely noticeable after 2 c-sections, but it looked pretty rough at first.
I still have a small pooch above my incision and I'm a year out from my c/s. And I'm at my pre-preg weight. I run, but I don't work on toning those muscles, so maybe that's my problem.
I'm just a few pounds away from my pre-baby weight and the pouch is still there almost 13 months after my c/s. I honestly don't know if it will ever go away; my body just seems so different post-baby.

I had a c-section 4.5 years ago and had the pooch, but it mostly went away after getting back into shape. Having just had another CS two weeks ago, it's back. Hoping I can get rid of it soon. :/
