Going OOT - what info do I need to leave MIL?

Any non-negotiable even for Grandma house rules? treats, tv, bedtime, anything your kids might try to play her on.

Mostly, if your MIL is on the ball and not too crazy, I don't think you need to give too much direction.

My pedi requested a signed letter from me specifying that my mom has my permission to seek medical care for DS during the time period she is taking care of him.

I also leave my mom a loosely written schedule for DS's typical day, which she has found very useful. DS thrives on routine so everything goes more smoothly when she follows what we generally do.

My mom stayed here in October when my H and I went to NYC. She had us leave a 'medical release letter' for her, in case she needed to take DD in for anything. I also left ideas for where they could get out/about (parks, play areas, restaurants, etc) and a few numbers for local friends.
