I've been really enjoying reading these again! Parenting in Europe seems very judgement free and supportive to me, at least going by her interviews. I think I would like it there.

Thanks for posting! And it's so timely. I had asked DH to set aside yesterday for babyproofing. When we got started he thought we had everything you need b/c we had the little outlet covers. So after some discussion at the BBB, we left with one cabinet lock for the cabinet in the kitchen "with the poisons" (as DH said) and an anti-tip strap for the tv. Babyproofing done.
And lest you ladies think I'm totally neglectful, I did manage to convince DH that moving the freestanding metal wine rack (which I wanted to move b/c it's currently in the LR/DR where DS could easily tip it over onto himself) TO ON TOP OF THE END TABLE was not an example of babyproofing

Stupid question re: China & non-potty-training/ going on the ground: So do they pick up the poop like in poop bags like I do w/ my pup? Do they just go anywhere?

I don't think this is a stupid question. My first thought when I read that was wtf, lol
Soooo, yeah. How exactly that works out is making my imagination run wild...

No, they generally do not. Sometimes people hold their babies direct over a trash can though.
