These 10 hour work days are long. I feel like I can't get anything done at home. But tomorrow is my friday so I have a three day weekend. I can't complain about that.

Even with the promise of 3 day weekends, there's no way I can do 10 hour days! Just no way. The option is available to us. Also a 5/4/9 schedule. I don't understand why it's called that.
I have a cold and wicked post nasal drip. I also have my period which is so painful since having Adeline. I can't even stand up. And forget about picking up one of my almost 40lb kids. One day my uterus might just fall all the way out.

Andrew woke up at 5:15. I went into his room, told him to go back to sleep, and left. He did, and just now woke up. Woo hoo!!
He has camp this morning. This week is ninja-themed, but he doesn't have any black clothes. Oh well. I don't think that most little boys have solid black clothes. He can just go as a plain-clothed ninja.
My scale is up 3 lbs since weigh in on Friday I haven't really pooped in almost a week and my period is due this weekend so that's probably why. But it still sucks!
It is so hard to stay motivated eating healthy and exercising when you don't see results or numbers going down on the scale.
This is the reason I have never stuck with fitness stuff. I also have like negative metabolism with my thyroid and PCOS. Im trying really hard to stay motivated this time. Today, my H said he was skipping the workout, but my tired butt still got up and did it...begrudgingly
All of you. Throw out the scale! Just by working out you are getting healthy and that's what matters! Evaluate how you feel!! Not what the scale says. I have faith in everyone of you. You can reach your goals!
I feel a ton of guilt today because yesterday I decided to go to my supervisor and voice my very serious concerns over the new lab tech I am training. It has been a month and she still does not understand the most mundane tasks and she makes mistakes at almost every single step. Sorry but these are patients. Still, I have guilt. I have no idea what they will do about it but I have to step away from the situation. I requested that I be removed from training her because I am clearly failing her. I actually got quite short and snotty with her yesterday. I don't need this in my last week of work.
You did the right thing IMO. Saves them headache from finding out about this later, and resenting YOU for "not training her well."
Wow the zofran induced constipation kicks in fast. I need to poop but nothing is coming out. How fast does milk of magnesia work?
Forgive me, are you pregnant? If you are, check with your OB before you take MOM because it can REALLY work which might be ill advised for a pregnant.
Yeah, Zofran constipates me after one dose. And I just learned recently that stool softeners only work if you take them BEFORE you get constipated. Why has no one told me that before!

I totally agree. I didn't own a scale until WLC #2... and then I really got down on myself. Now the scale is collecting dust, and I evaluate myself on how I feel. I'm a much happier and more motivated person this way!
@therealmc I meant to ask you earlier this week how the training was going. I think you did the right thing. It shows a lot about your character that you care enough about the patients to voice your concerns. Don't be too hard on yourself!
I'm getting a cough this morning - where did this come from?! I blame allergies.
I switched it up and got chocolate cappuccino iced coffee this morning. YUM!
We dropped off all the enrollment paperwork and tuition to A's new daycare yesterday. So, it's official - she starts on Monday! She fell asleep in the car on the way there, so wasn't happy when we had to wake her up. But, she remembered her new classroom and was very excited to see it! When I asked if she was excited to start at her new school, she told me, "We gotta go shopping!" Such a shopaholic. I am taking her shopping on Friday for some new stuff that she needs.
We have to bring her lunch every day, which we've never had to do before. Work with us, A... don't go on a food strike!

You did the right thing. I really loathe training people. There is a new recruiter on my team who is senior level, which I am not and I'm blown away by the questions she's asking. I told my supervisor I could not get my own work done because I was always on the phone with her. Didn't mean to hijack, but I can sympathize!

Just scalded my milk for the forst time, it's a lot of work so I hope it helps.
A kept projectile vomitting last night when I tried to nurse him. I had to change both of us, the bedsheets/pillow case and wash the floor, twice. His gag seems to be getting worse. He gags often while trying to nurse. I'm scared. TrudyCampbell is Ruby still projectile vomitting (or spitting up large amounts) all the time?

@therealmc, you made the appropriate move. Are they sending her to someone else to give her another try? There have been a lot of times at work where I had to go to my supervisors and tell them that, though I'm a good trainer, I'm not getting through to someone and they might want to try someone else. No one is ever upset about it because people who are doing a bad job in training and and are getting feedback from a trainer are usually aware that they are sucking.

She's getting better with the projectile vomits (I can't remember the last one which means it will probably be today) but she seems to be spitting up small amts way more often. I change her outfit a few times a day. She doesn't really gag while nursing unless she falls asleep.

We have a high-level technologist that designed the protocol I have been training this woman on. This tech is going to spend a couple days with her and then they will figure it out from there. I really don't see any potential for this woman. I don't trust her to be able to handle any kind of discrepancy with patient samples nor is she detailed enough to not mix up testing, which I have caught her doing on numerous occasions.
That tech will probably share your concerns. And at that point, you've given the trainee all the chances. So don't feel bad! It's REAL WORK. I have to repeat that at work all the time. That the people I train may think of this job as their retirement plan but it's REAL WORK and there are REAL standards.

I read a buzz feed last night about FRIENDS that said that Courtney Cox had to film the birth of Emma episode right after she had a miscarriage. That had to be so horrible for her!
I realized last night that I have my pap today. I don't want to go, I like to mentally prepare a few days in advance. And I told IL's last night and they acted like it was such a big deal to watch him last minute.
I'm taking the iPad and stopping at Starbucks after my appointment so I can get away for a bit. I love my kid but we have been attached at the hip for the last 3 weeks.

I am seriously floored by some of the mistakes this woman is making. Things we just did 4 times in a row and then she is literally dumbfounded as if it is something completely new. This happens over and over and over again. And she just keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over...in a row. I really do feel bad because she is a nice woman but she cannot be trusted in the lab and I really don't think she has the potential to learn it. Ugh!!!!

I am! Due March 12th.
My Ob recommended it last time when colace did jack. She said to only take it once a week to get things moving. I started zofran Monday morning and haven't pooped since then. It is better than feeling like death though.

yeah, i was up to the max of 3 colace a day and it does nothing. i only took MOM once and it worked within a few hours. i needed to be on the toilet the whole day. i recently took mag cit and it had the same effect. full day of peeing out of my butt.
