Keeping a laundry basket in the trunk of my car to carry in groceries. Much easier than the how many bags can I carry game. Especially is you are using disposable bags instead of reusable.
Shredding chicken breasts in the KitchenAide. Amazing.
I've never really thought I needed a KitchenAid. Now I do. I loathe shredding chicken.
I do crockpot an entire bag of frozen chicken at once to shred and then portion out and refreeze. Shredded chicken can be thawed out in minutes on the counter (I know not food safe but whatevs).

This is a good idea. Often times I'm too lazy to make a recipe that has cooked chicken as part of the ingredients. I don't want to cook chicken AND THEN start the recipe.

I buy those big blocks of cheese from costco, shred them in the food processor, and then freeze them in portions. The cheese never goes bad and it still tastes fresh.
Tator tots in the waffle iron to make hash browns. Best hash browns ever!
Where has this been all my life?
It's amazing! Don't oil the pan first like the internet will tell you-just buy extra crispy tots and defrost slightly before putting them on the hot pan. Then squeeze the iron lid closed until they're nice and squished and I periodically open the lid and break up with a fork so they form one big piece.
How do you do this without getting egg stuck to the pan? I have to spend so long cleaning each hole to get all the stuck on egg. I've tried coating it with Pam, Crisco, butter, switching to silicone, etc.
I had the same issue so I started using tinfoil cupcakes liners. Works like a charm!
Silicone (reusable) muffin liners work really well too.

I don't know if it's a life hack, but I save all my leftovers in single serving size in ziplock bags. If I am serving the whole family I'll take out multiple; for just me, one. I even slice pie and freeze those individually. I really should invest in the ziplock company.
Using a manual can opener to open those pain in the ass clamshell plastic packages that are so hard to open.
Wait a minute. This actually works?
I have heard of this multiple times, but I wish I could remember this when I need to open that kind of packaging. I have ruined so many good scissors cutting through plastic.
When we buy take-n-break bread, we freeze it, no matter when we're going to eat it. It's par-baked, so it can mold quickly. Go straight from freezer to oven - you get a crispier crust and don't have to worry about the bread going bad if you don't use it right away.
Oh - and another: if I'm serving chips in a bowl, I open the bag from the bottom. Then all the crumbs and small chips are at the bottom of the bowl, not the top.

ooooooooooooooooooh! and would keep everything from rolling around!

I do this too but use either mason jars or these containers. That way we can just take the container from the fridge and heat it up in the microwave - no need to dirty another dish to heat it up/eat and the earth rejoices that we aren't throwing away so many ziplocks. :-)

You're a far better steward of our planet than I am! But how do you keep them airtight? Getting the air out is why I use the bags. I could definitely use those for homemade pasta sauce and barbecue sauce, though, and other stuff where freezer burn isn't a concern.
When I was potty training our oldest, I was worried about going diaper-free during naps & overnight. So I layered her crib mattress with puppy pads between fitted sheets. Then when she had accidents, I just had to strip the top two layer combo of sheet/puppy pad instead of struggling with making up another bed.
And just recently, when my 17-month-old wakes up from her nap before I take a post-gym shower, I put her in the high chair in our bathroom with my laptop on the counter so she can watch something on my computer while I take a quick shower.

I wasn't trying to jump on you about your ziplock bag use. :-) I just try to be as green as I can. I guess I didn't think about the air/freezer burn - we generally eat our leftovers so fast that freezer burn isn't an issue. Once I made a huge batch of soup and those stayed frozen for a while and since the containers were so full, freezer burn wasn't a problem. Usually the leftovers are just in the fridge for a day or two.
These ones are pretty well known - lemon juice removes garlic from your hands.
Keep toilet paper rolls and cut them lengthwise. Then slip over wrapping paper rolls to hold everything together. It keeps them all pretty without having to use any tape. www.shoqbox.com/?search&q=toilet%20paper%20roll

I just saw that. I remember when I was little my Mom told me that her name was Ponce and I was like WTF kinda name is that ( in my head cause I was like 7)
I would pick Heloise as my pen name too if I was named "Ponce".

I tried that and they stretched out and fell off. Maybe my tp company uses weak cardboard?

Sheet sandwich for DD1's bed. I bought like three of these and layer them in between regular cotton sheets on her bed. So if she has an accident or throws up or whatever, all I have to do is pull off one sheet and one sheet protector layer and a fresh set is on the bed ready to go for the next accident session.
Pricey for the sheet protectors but worth every penny when you're in the middle of the night and just want to get your sick kid settled back in a clean bed.
