Gross, but how's your discharge? I would tell him to get his ass home and get you to a hospital if you get anything pink or blood-tinged. My second labor went from probably in labor to OMFG it's baby time really quickly. I got to the hospital at 6cm and was holding her less than an hour later.
How long would it take him to find coverage and how far away is the hospital? I'd want to play it on the safe side.
If he's not on a call, he says he can just leave. They will then find coverage or drop down a guy (they do that regularly when one person is out on a shift). If he's on a call it could be who knows how long. Hospital is only 15 minutes away. Childcare is 45+ minutes away. I could call a friend and her H who are in town but I feel bad because they have a 6 week old but they keep insisting if we need someone to be there until my dad arrives they will do it.

I had some blood tinged discharge yesterday but not today.
I really should get up and move around but it's 85 degrees in our house and I don't want to leave my AC bedroom!

I'd call your childcare and your husband. Give yourself the 45 minutes it'll take for your dad to get there to get everything ready. That way, your husband doesn't need to run right out the fire station door. There are a lot of stories on this board. You never hear anybody say "I wish I hadn't gone in."

Don't feel bad about calling them!! They offered and a 6wk old is pretty flexible/portable.

You're right. I'm going to give my dad a call although the last thing I want is my dad hanging around while I'm contracting asking how thing are going. I'd have to have him take O downstairs or out somewhere.
My labor with L was 32ish hours. It was about 4 with E. I got to the hospital at a 4 and by the time I was admitted I was an 8. It goes way fast the second time.
Also mg contractions were inconsistent the second time . Ranging from every 2-7 minutes.
My OB also said not to wait for 5:5:1 the second time and to call much sooner.
