Holy shit. I'm watching a show about it and I forgot how crazy it was. I remember it being crazy and I remember being scared and not wanting to leave my house but holy hell these two were sick.
I think I added a documentary to my Netflix list about it. It was a very scary time.
Yea I'm watching Netflix. I don't remember all these details. I just remember my dad saying don't get gas and if you have to walk in a zig zag and being scared for my life. White vans every where.
H and I watched a show about it on Netflix last week. I had forgotten how terrifying it was. I felt really exposed every time I had to pump gas, even though I'm not anywhere near DC/MD.
I'm from NoVa so yes. I had started my freshman year of college. My mom made me call every night to make sure I was OK. College was 2 hours away but on an interstate and she was worried it would be targeted because of getaway possibilities. Everyone was scared, they were all so random.
One of my grad school professors evaluated Lee Boyd. I don't remember if it was during the trial or after sentencing or something. She said he was very likeable and charming like a regular person and then he'd hand you a horrific drawing of some sort. Creepy.
H (then BF) lived right down the street from the mall where one of the victims was shot and I was visiting him while the search was still underway. I remember we rented a car to go sightseeing because he didn't own one and I didn't feel comfortable walking a mile to the nearest Metro stop.
Yes, I was in college at the time. I will NEVER forget driving home for Fall Break on 95 with state troopers on both sides of the highway pointed at traffic with their guns loaded and pointed out the window. Two of the incidents occurred very close to my school. I remember talking to my mom before I left to come home telling me not to stop for gas.

I lives in the area during that time. I was terrified since I lived not far from where a lot of the shootings happened and worked right down the street from the Home Depot. My roommate and I stopped at the rest stop where they were caught every time we drove back to Ohio.
Yep, I lived in the apt complex around the corner from the Ponderosa where the older man was shot. It was my senior year of college. We closed for 3 days.

I see your location says FL, but were you living up here then?
To answer your OP, I do remember and it was a terrifying time in the DC area. The woman murdered in the Home Depot parking lot was a client of my boss.

Yes. I've lived in baltimore my whole life, till 2 years ago. So I was also near dc and va. And baltimore being so close, we just didn't know. It was so scary.
I didn't know him well. He lived two doors down from us. I feel terrible for his family, obviously, and did at the time too. But, I was living out of the area at the time and, selfishly, was incredibly worried about my family. This really hit close to home, but didn't directly affect me.

I think of her and her husband quite a bit. I used to live down the street from there.
It was just so scary the geographic area they covered. My sister came to down during this time for our college reunion and I remember being petrified as she got gas on lee hwy one night because it was sorta close to the 66 on ramp.
