Our last gym was the YMCA, which was 74 a month for the whole family.
The gym I'm considering joining is 19.99 a month not including classes. 35 with classes and towel service. 45 if you want babysitting and for kids to use their indoor spray park (lols).
I think when I joined with xh it was $60/month or so. I did the New Rules for a while, and really liked it. I should start again, but it's so hard to get myself out of the house once I'm home from work. Plus, I'd hate to throw the dogs back in the crate.

I pay $22/month for a very bare-bones gym. I basically just use the elliptical/treadmill and weights when I go. They don't have a pool and you have to pay extra for classes, but it's perfect for what I use it for.
H and I each pay $35 a month for our tiny gym. It is BASIC. I get some classes but a lot of the group/HIIT (P90X, Insanity, FitBox) classes you need to pay extra (upwards of $100/month). Luckily I don't do classes so I am happy for the most part.
What types of amenities does the gym have? $51/month doesn't seem that bad, at least compared to the fancy gyms around here.
With a discount through Medica I was paying $25 a month for Lifetime Fitness. 24 hour access and unlimited classes. Once I turned 25 it went up to $35 a month. I'm not sure why there is the price change. I figure that they either want to provide an incentive to have more hot young things there or else they assume that the 25+ people will need to use their childcare.
$14 a month. It's a pretty basic fitness center but does have weight and strength training machines. They just started offering group classes a few months ago.
Our gym is amazing-it has regular gym amenities plus an outdoor pool facility, kids academy (basically child care but the kids can go to yoga/karate/gymnastics/etc), climbing wall, turf fields, racquetball courts, spa, cafe, and other stuff I'm probably forgetting. We pay $89/ month for H & me total, but we joined before the facility had been built and got a great rate.
$60 a month for a Y family membership, though we get a youth membership deducted from the full price for a family since DS gets one for being in after care there. Two pools, TRX, fitness classes, Zumba, child care are included.

We pay $130/month, and that is after a discount we received by signing up during a promotional event. I think normally it might be more around $150/month. That is for our family of 4, and includes extra for the kids to go to their child care center ($10/ea I believe).
It is kind of pricey but I love my gym so hard. There are different levels of membership, and the chain has multiple local locations each at different levels. Whichever level membership you have, you can go to any of the local gyms at that level or below. I don't usually go to other ones but occasionally have and it's nice to know it's an option.
There are a zillion group fitness classes and most are free included with your monthly fee. There is a large indoor track, pools, saunas/hot tubs, the locker rooms are really nice, café and spa on-site....I could go on and on, but anyhow....it's worth it for us!

There's a cardio room, weight room, gym, couple of fitness class rooms, locker room with showers, sauna and steam (shampoo/conditioner included, haha), Olympic size pool, classes, personal training (extra $), rooms to play that game where you hit the ball against the wall but I'm blanking on what it's called, haha. But I'd probably never use those or the pool or most of the classes.
Raquetball?
That sounds like a deal to me. Again, based on the fancy gyms here. Do you think you would use a lot of the "extras" that they have?
$30.00 Per Month w/ classes. Right by my work. THey have a satellite location I can go to which is by my house. THe satellite location only is $20.00 but doesn't have classes.

I pay 19.99 a month at my gym (answer is fitness). This includes access to any group classes offered (spin, Zumba, Pilates, yoga, etc). Once a year(march) there's an additional charge of 35.00; it goes towards upgrading machines/getting new equipment.
I believe the early termination fee is 150.00 unless you move 30 + miles from one of their locations. In that case, they let you of the contract free of charge.
I signed up with this gym as it was the least expensive for everything I was looking for. You can also use any of their locations without an additional fee.
My sister's gym membership was 350.00 a year. She also pays 90.00 (monthly) at her crossfit box; typically it's about 150.00. She cleans the box, so they give her a discount.

LOL yes! Racquetball. Honestly, I don't think I would. I really only workout after work (don't have time at lunch and don't want to get up earlier), shower at home, and only use cardio to warm up and then weights. I rarely find a class that fits what I want to do AND my schedule. And I don't see myself using the pool.
It seems obvious not to join now, but I guess I had to think through it in this thread to get it, haha. What else is ML for?
Sounds like PF would be a good choice then. If one was closer to where I live I would join. It's just the basics and CHEAP. Win.
It's 3 minutes walk from work, has classes, a pool, steam rooms, saunas and all the usual gym stuff + towels, hairdryers, shampoo etc in the showers and a restaurant & spa.
It's still too bloody expensive but I won't go if it's not pretty much under my nose, so I pay.
$77/month for me, plus $20/kid/month for 2 hours a day at the child center. So $117/month for me and the girls. We go 4-5 days/week and they love it, so it's definitely worth it. The facilities and class offerings are awesome too.
$80/month at the Y for me and H, includes classes, pool, towels, the usual. We go a lot, so it's worth it, and I'd probably pay a lot more for a nicer gym with more classes if we had one around here.
$39 a month not including childcare. No contract and 30 day notice to cancel required. Childcare is an additional $10 per month. It's got everything but the class schedule doesn't really work for me. My dream is join Lifetime. Someday, lol!
