oh goodness! I hope you can get it all up. That's a LOT of marker.
It took her like 2 minutes to do and will take me 20 hours to clean.
oh yes I know, not blaming you! We purposely aren't upgrading our house interior and possessions until the kids are a bit older and not destroying as much.
Oh no . That's one thing I routinely yell at DH for and it NEVER HELPS. He leaves out sharpies, pens, and markers everywhere. I'm about ready to carefully go through the entire house and confiscate all writing instruments. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this today.
I'm sorry Max got felt tipped pen on my new white duvet. I haven't tried to remove it yet because I'm so afraid it won't come off. It happened so fast! I don't even know where he got the stupid pen.
I'm glad your cleaning is having some effect! Maybe you can try one of the other suggestions on the remainder of the stain?

I bet the rubbing alcohol will work on that. And if not, bleach?

It's white cotton, right? Look at the laundering directions but you should be able to bleach it. Hairspray/alcohol generally gets most ink out, though.
Trudy, the other spots might contain more ink than the first test spot. It will come out. Keep working at it.
Maybe try blotting with a clean cloth when you clean each spot so the residue from what you remove isn't being introduced back into the rug fibers?

I know I'm making it worse by rubbing but I can't even come close to getting it out by just blotting alone. Gah! I need to buy like 20 more bottles of rubbing alcohol.
