I use the Fitbit One and love it. I pair that with Lose It (calorie counter) and have found it to be pretty accurate. It surprises me with how spot on it is, because I've been following their suggestion for calorie/exercise to lose 2lbs per week and it's correct 9.9/10.

@crackhabit if you want something to track Heart Rate and calorie burn primarily during exercise, ditto farmville's rec to look at the Polar Ft4 or the new Garmin FR15. DC Rainmaker review of the FR15 here: www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/06/garmin-forerunner-15-depth-review.html
Personally, I use a Garmin 220 for runs and a Garmin VivoFit for daily activity tracking and heart rate tracking during yoga/pilates/bootcamp/elliptical/etc.
I wore a BodyMedia Fit for 6 years (just died last week; boo! so I need to get a new one) and my big calorie burn days were NOT on days when I did intense workouts--they were on days I hosted parties and moved all. day. long. A heart rate monitor would have been of no use to me on those days as they're only useful for steady state cardio, not low-level stuff. You'd be amazed at how many calories you can burn just by moving around. No need to kill yourself, just move.
I have a Fitbit One and really like it. I had a Flex before that but didn't like having the band around my wrist. And when I was on the elliptical, it only recorded every other step. I like being able to wear the One on my waistband or bra, and I like that it has a display. It's very motivating. And it records every step I take on the elliptical.
I don't know how accurate any of them are at counting calories burned. I do know that the Fitbit uploads my info to My Fitness Pal, and that website and the elliptical at the gym are way off as far as calories burned. The elliptical tells me I've burned like twice as many as the Fitbit does.
