I am so in love with my kid. I want to shout all his twy sentwas from the rooftop.
He's saying new words every few days. We have caterpillars everywhere lately and he likes the hungry caterpillar book so we are pretty much experts at this point. There was one on his car window that I didn't see. He was pointing and yelling "CAPPA!" and getting so mad at me for not understanding. I finally looked where he was pointing and saw it and said "ohhhh, caterpillar?"and he gave me a big cheesy grin and yelled " CAPPA!"
Not getting a job means I get to go with DH on vacation to visit his family like we planned. I could really use the break and I love going to the Iowa State Fair.
I was watching the live coverage of The Games during lunch. It was the Master's division, men 60+. I wanted to high five every single one of them. These guys all in their 60s competing in a competition like that - they're just amazing.
I keep meaning to ask, are you familiar with this organization? A friend of mine (well, actually a good friend of my sister's from college, who is a FB friend of mine) started it. She's pretty badass.
I'm having a good day - working on DH's 40th birthday gift, which is going to be epic. EPIC, I SAY! I'll post pictures when it's completed in a few months.
Someone brought in amaaaaaaazing tomatoes and bread and mayo for sandwiches to share, AND it was free ice cream day at work.
DD is sleeping over at my parents' house tonight and DH is OOT, so I'm getting some 1-on-1 time with DS, which rarely happens. Plus it's less of a production to put him to bed so my evening is easier too.
Tomorrow looks like it's going to be gorgeous out and I think I'm going to take the afternoon off and surprise DD by picking her up at camp.

My insurance company approved a single patient contract with my (out of network) psych and it's retroactive. It's $625 per session so I am pumped to not have to pay those bills.
I am taking a staycation next week -- and my mom and dad are visiting to celebrate my bday a little early.
I just got my roots touched up, and my hair is lookin' good. Also, I'm obsessed with my stylist, who has been a casual friend for about a year. We've been hanging out and chatting more recently, though, and I think she's heading into the full-time friend territory. We are doing dinner and karaoke tomorrow night!
The barista at the local coffee shop makes a mean latte and knows all the gossip -- and she'll tell you everything you ever wanted to know
I got my birthday nap and now I'm taking myself out for lunch before bff brings my kids back
My mom is making the most delicious carrot cake ever! I ask for it every birthday. She has to grate two pounds of raw carrots, so I don't take asking lightly. It's just so goooood. Cakecakecake.
So I was having a really horrible morning, I was running a little late and had a horrible migraine. I decided to stop to get a bagel. I NEEDED that bagel. lol I was in the drive-thru and had to wait 20 damn minutes in the line (it's the kind that once you get it there is no way to get out). There were 2 girls in the car in front of me, and they ordered like 6 specialty coffees, so I was REALLY annoyed at this point. The driver kept looking back at me and I know I had my resting bitch face on.
So I FINALLY get up to pay and the lady working tells me that it's been taken care of, the girls ahead of me paid for my bagel.
So here I was being a total a-hole and they were nice enough to pay for me. Totally changed my attitude for the day!
