This idiot with PCOS - listen, girl. What fucking natural remedies are you trying? The pill is one of the only thing that helps regulate it. I have it. I understand.
And I cannot even with the girl who says that cramps and whatthefuckever are all part of being a woman. I don't need some sort of shared pain experience to feel more feminine. Nothing makes me feel LESS feminine than being doubled over in bed, shivering and crying from cramps. Nope.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
A lot of this stuff sounds like typical, run of the mill Catholic teaching.
We heard a lot about the supposed evils of birth control when we did our Catholic pre-marital stuff.
Yes it does. The same couple who was preaching to us about the importance of not having kids before you're ready and using NFP until that time because it's highly effective later talked about how their struggle with IF brought them closer together. I mean no offense at all to those going through IF as I understand how devastating it is, but you can't claim that NFP works great then admit that you're infertile.
The guy at ours tried to tell us that all forms of artificial birth control are abortifacients (yes, all). I wanted to beat him over the head with a science textbook and yell, "Out, demons of stupidity!"

IF issues aside, i know everyone laughs at NFP but there was a thread on ML where the most common BC was pull and pray and i was too shunned to function the rest of the day
It blows my mind that people rely on pull and pray. But I'm also that paranoid person who uses two forms of birth control, so...
And the underlying message that somehow after marriage, babies are automatically what every single person in the world wants, conceived on their wedding night? No. Just no.
NFP is for people who could deal with a baby right now but kind of sort of want to wait. It's not for people who super serious absolutely don't want a kid.

MIL tried to talk to us once about using NFP. H shut that right down and told her never to bring it up again.

I'm too scared. I actually have a legit reason for not using birth control that I hoped maybe one of those women would mention - I have a clotting disorder (although I used BC nonstop for 10 years before this was discovered). I don't want to use condoms but I also don't want a second kid anytime soon even though CHILDREN ARE GIFTS!!!!
So, condoms it is for this *gasp* married couple until I talk about the possibility of an IUD with my doc.

I also find it interesting that not one brought up a legit medical reason. I ended up with high blood pressure on the pill and then pre-e/PIH 3x so I'm not allowed to use hormonal methods either. I was very fond of my paraguard IUD and am even more fond of the V DH got.

In fact, I'm having the same urge towards some of the women in that article.
My bff uses pull and pray. I think she's bananas. BF and I use bcp and his vasectomy, TYVM. And I still regularly pee on sticks. Just in case.
yeah, i always feel anxiety the 4 days i wait for my fake period to kick in while on BC and i convince myself i am pregnant every damn month. i want to google like lena dunham about getting pregnant on the pill and i dont. (what about the stuff that gets up over the SIDES of the condom!?!)
This is me. I've been on the pill for the last decade, I've never gotten pregnant...but every month there's always that last minute panic of "OMG, what if I somehow ovulated even though that's NEVER happened and now I'm knocked up?!?"
I have a dear friend who ia by every other measure a very smart woman, who had been using pull and pray for about 3 years with her then boyfriend (now husband). She has an iud now, but she told me that looking back she's pretty sure that they must have an IF issue because otherwise they'd have n oops by now.

Well, women 25-30 might have made signs with legit medical reasons but those don't make for a click - worthy buzzfeed list.
Also, I was super disappointed in RHE's recent "why I use BC" post. Only one said something to the effect of "I want to avoid pregnancy." It made it sound like the only valid reason for a religious woman using BC is lady problems. rachelheldevans.com/blog/why-i-use-birth-control
Whhhhhy. What are these girls going to do when they have their desired 2.5 children? A vasectomy is a good option but not every man wants to have it done. Using some type of BC method is not "poisoning" your body. Gimme a break.
I disagree with this. Personally, I think the default BC option in long-term relationships where there is no more desire to have kids should be vasectomy. Less invasive, less side effects, no potential for forgetting. Why should he get a favored "I don't want to" when he doesn't have to bear the pregnancy or the side effects of female BC?

I can agree with this, but I think I'm a little too much of a control freak to trust it to take, and it feels a little more like I'm taking matters into my own hands when I am in charge of my own birth control, whether it's ensuring that I have condoms, or I take a pill, or I do nothing, or I sterilize myself. Like, I need to own my own fertility too, whatever form it takes.
