DS's dosage was twice a day - at 6am and 6pm, IIRC. Yes, we definitely saw immediate changes if we even delayed a dose by an hour or so. It didn't take 7-10 days to see improvement - I'm pretty sure he improved almost immediately after getting his delayed (or skipped) dosage.

What medication is it? With Zantac, it took a week or so to see improvements and another week or so for symptoms to return when we quit. It may be different with other medications.
We're on Zantac and we do twice a day. We do it as soon as he wakes up for the day and right before his last bottle. We go back Monday and I'm pretty sure he will be changing meds because he still spits up 6X a day.
I give DD Zantac twice a day, once by 9 am when she wakes up and in the evening by 6 pm. A few times we delayed until like 7 or 8 and she was a fussy mess. If there's even a remote chance we will be out at 6 pm, I bring the medicine with us.
Then again, she takes it for puking in the daytime. In her case, it doesn't really mess with her sleep, more with her digestion.
DS takes Zantac twice a day before a feeding. We give him his medicine and then give him his bottle, once in the morning and once in the evening. It took about 2.5 weeks to see a difference and now it is night and day from when before he started the medicine.

We just (today, actually) switched from Zantac twice a day to Prilosec once a day. We've been trying to transition DS from the rock n play to his (inclined) crib, but he kept waking up gagging and choking from his reflux. Called the doctor and they said to try switching medicines. We were also told 7-10 days to see improvement. Although, we were told the same with his Zantac, and we saw immediate improvement with that.

Did it help? I hope it did!
Tonight was our third dose-day 1 he only spit up once. This is amazing since we usually go through at least 3 outfits (him AND me) and 3 burp rags a day. Day 2, which was today, he was more spitty and more uncomfortable at times. Nights seem to be going better, though. The doctor said to give it at least a week to see an improvement, so hopefully by next weekend he will be much more comfortable. Thanks for asking!
